3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Deeply cloudy amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is very well hopped, and the flavour is very well hopped with a long bitter and growingly dry finish. Overall a very, very nice well hopped beer.

Great 16.9 oz birthday bottle from sherm1016....thanks!!!!!& a cloudy, beautiful amber orange...even looks yummy! Tastes even better....let’s see - there’s some grapefruit; some pineapple; sour green grapes....wow. Wonderfully offset by the malty balance to all these hops....definitely another future favorite....may have to retire to New Zealand to get this more often....very very tasty.

Love it, great IPA with lots of upfront bitterness which finishes with some good apricot stone fruit. Good viscosity in the palate too.

(bottle) Pouring it very carefully resulted in a stupid amount of head - it filled two pint glasses - so appearance: way too much head, plus it was murky amber brown. Off to a bad start, but all good after that. Wonderful, floral, fruity (pineapple and grapefruit) and hoppy aroma. Medium body and well (!) carbonated. Lovely balanced foretaste of sweet biscuity malts and tangy fruit leading into a long lasting excellent bitter finish. A great IPA.

No other way to put it. An awesome beer!
The nose includes that lovely aroma that can only come from NZ hops. Sort of a sweet mixture of grapefruit and white wine. The taste. Ones along to back this up with just enough malt to spring forth gently against the bitter hops. The reddish amber colour and clarity are perfect.
This beer is a must drink before you die.

(50 cl bottle from Toft Vin) Pours a clear amber with medium, off-white head that recedes quickly leaving a thin layer and good lace in the glass. Aroma is powerfully fruity hops with dominant notes of sweet grapefruit and passionfruit. Full-bodied, oily texture with medium carbonation and a dry finish. Taste is mildly bitter but for me the complex, aromatic nature of the hop is far more dominant than the bitterness. A very pleasant IPA. Girlfriend says: "I like the mix of grapefruit and grass taste."

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2012 Bottled. Poured clear and deep orange with a small, creamy white head. Nice lacing. The nose is a palette of tropical fruits and caramel. Flavor with a nice fruitiness with grapefruit, oranges and caramel. Medium bodied, creamy texture and average carbonation. Ends up pleasant bitter. An excellent smooth and very interesting IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2012 Bottle. This was my first beer I have tried from 8 Wired. After seeing that the brewery was from New Zealend, and that this beer was made with tons of Nelson hops, I had to pick it up. Poured a cloudy golden orange color with a medium body and lacing amount. Aromas are tons of tropical fruit notes, cheddar, onions, honey mustard, mangoes. Taste is just as incredible as the scent. Loads of oniony nelson hops, pineapple, mango, and other citrus fruit. Other notes of buttery crab and lobster that finishes up smooth and layered in flavor. Drink this beer with a bag of Snyders honey mustard and onion flavored pretzels. Luxurious, rich, and complex IPA from a brewer that I will be searching out in the near future.
