We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Bottle from New Beer Dist. Pours a crystal clear orange with an eggshell colored head. The aroma is a beautiful complex blend of tropical fruits, pine, caramel and a sugary sweetness. Sort of like a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. The flavor is loaded with juicy exotic fruits, and a good amount of bitterness balanced out by the sweet malts. This is one Bold IPA! The best I’ve had from NZ.

Pours a very, very cloudy dusky gold with a modest head (scattered foam) and a bitter, yeasty/fruity aroma - almost astringent. Tropical punch flavour for sure - pineapple, white grape. Creamy body (it was very cloudy) with decent carbonation. Delicious, but I wish it had been a touch crisper, and the cloudiness was very off-putting.

The nose is amazing, floral fruity hop aromas that jump right out of the glass. Bright copper color with a small white head. Nice malt backbone with a citrus hop flavor, not typical citrus maybe kind of a grassy citrus. Its alittle diffent but it is an excellent beer.

500 ml bottle at Kaisla, Helsinki. Clear coppery colour, thin creamy off-white head. Aroma of sweet exotic fruits, berries, citrus, pine and malt. The flavour is malty, with pine and citrus, and a nicely bitter hoppy finish. Tasty and balanced.

Aroma is citrus, fruit and very earthy malts. The flavor is citrus, lemon, a heavy dose of tropical fruit, earthy malts and nicely bitter finish. More complex than I was expecting and the heavy sediment probably helped play a role.
