COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Very pleasant and flavourful IPA. Unusual white wine flavours, citrus, mango, melon, berry, apricot. High IBU. Very good taste profile but for hopheads.

nice ipa, pours a hazty orange amber body with a nice off white head that stays around and has tons of thick lacing. the aroma is subdued, the taste a lil less so. there is a nice fruity profile going on, but its a bit lighter than expected. nice malt bill to hold up behind it, though a hint of cardboard. not sure how old it is, has a best by 8-11 sticker, but it seems like its def a lil big aged already. would love to try it on tap.

Murky, dark orange color with a small head. Aroma of orange, grapefruit and floral hops. Moderate caramel malt notes. Sweet caramel and toasted malt flavors. Moderately bitter with light pine. Thin body. Not bad, but at the price point it comes in at in the States, a let down.

Brilliant beer from 8Wired Brewery in New Zealand. Fantastic aroma and even better flavour. This is one of my absolute favourite beers.

Serving: 500 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a very cloudy amber brown with a small, frothy, off-white head. The nose is powerfully full of hops. Lots of earthy and herbal notes with a slight papery side and an underlying peachy fruitiness. The flavor is very hop forward, but restrained compared to the nose. Nice citrus and floral notes with herbals in the background and a bit of malt to add some body and backbone. Really quite good. Light to medium body with a good bit of softer carbonation leading to a dry and bitter finish. This brew really was enjoyable and great for any hop head. It’s a shame it’s so damn expensive.
