COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Bottled at ALEhouse. My favorite IPA, so far. Frutty aroma with fantastic hoppy taste and nice bitter finish.

Bottled from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Slightly hazy amber colored, nice head. Nose of tropical fruit, hops, nelson sauvin. Pretty bitter flavor, tropical fruit again, little malt presence. Dry and bitter flavor. Certainly shares some characteristics with Marlborough wines. Could use some more maltyness, but neventheless a nice IPA.

this is one beautiful IPA. I tasted it for the first time tonight, and it’s one of the most surprising beers i’ve tasted. surprisingly great. I got notes of mandarin in the palate. but it’s a lovely bright taste while holding a rich fullness of the hops. I’m definately going to try it again soon

.5 flaske fra polet. Klar bronse farget med hvit skum som varer. Masse herlig humle aroma og noe ubestemmelig men godt. Smak av malt sitrus frukt. Medium co2. Passe bitter. Kjempegod

cloudy orange to amber colour, huge, very stable yellowish head; aroma of tropical fruits, grapefruit notes, pine resin and significant maltiness; very well balanced malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness with tropical fruity-resiny notes; excellent IPA

From Craftissimo. Translucent amber-brown with thin white head and wispy watery legs. Smells of very sweet malt, lots of banana bread, some pear, spice, crisp juicy hop. Tastes of spice, light citrus, very malty and deeply bitter. Body is thin to medium, crisp, hint of frothiness. Not as good as the Fresh Hopwired in my opinion (and maltier than I remembered it being) but still an excellent beer.

Bottle from Craftissimo. Can't believe I hadn't rated this before! Almost clear copper-amber pour with thin sticky head. Smells like what a great IPA should smell like - fruity pineapple and mango hops with sweet maltiness (more malty than I remember). Taste is fruity hops again with some citrus bitterness. Enough maltiness to balance it. A bit bubbly in at the finish but still very smooth in a good way. Great IPA
