COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2012 Tap at the Albion Newcastle. Wow this was even better than in a bottle. Fantastic IPA, huge hoppy flavour that is exquisitely balanced.

One of the all time best IPA’s I’ve evre sipped. Pours a beautiful golden color with a lingering frothy head. Smells of bright, crisp and very fresh hop spice. Full nectar with excellent carbonation. Supreme hop essence balanced by a fat malt component. This brew just goes down so good and lingers on the tongue forever. Highest recommendation.

0.5l bottle at the Salt House, Galway, Ireland. Amber Colour, tropical fruits aroma, full body with rich, oily sensation in the mouth. And it is all about those unusual NZ hops, still balanced very well with the malt used. Probably the best beer in the world. :)

Bottle second batch: Nose is fruit salad. One of the most appetizing noses I have smelt on a beer, incredible. Taste follows through with fruity flavors and huge hop bitterness but never becoming astringent. My favorite NZ IPA.

Tried first bottle in August 10 while in NZ but can still remember those hops !! Big, spicy, orange punch in the nose but not unlike the famous American c hops but with more fruit and zing, bit of cara malt sweetness but not dominating. I could drink a lot of this beer

500ml bottle, pours a golden dark-amber colour with an off white head, floral fruity nose, follows through in taste, big citrus hoppy flavour, all round great beer.

Probably my favourite beer atm. A very full-bodied, full-flavoured and reasonably bitter IPA. There IPA’s with a better nose and appearance, but that is all the criticism I have of this brew. Well worth a crack.
