COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Aroma leafy like with grapefruit notes. Candy like backing. Soft aromatic fruity ending. 7+
Appearance poured clear amber . Lighter tanned fine top. Ring on glass, sparse lace. 3+
Flavor and Palate : smooth front with quiet bitter green hop feel. This one is quiet hoppy even for an IPA. Alcoholic heat n top. Great base but beer felt as was not most coherent. All parts did not talked to each other.

average frothy offwhite head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. translucent thick light amber body. aroma: moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, grass, earth. if and ff: moderate sweet bitter; long duration. palate: medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish.

Tapped at Le Senk in Bratislava/Slovakia. Overall a mind blowing IPA! A hop bomb from start to finish. Hazy golden orange color, one inch thick head. Fantastic aroma of floral hops, some caramel and malt. Taste hoppy, malty, some caramel. Full body. Bitter hops dry finish. Addictive!

Found on shelf for beers of the world Woodman’s Sun Prairie Wi - Pours a hazy orange with thick white head. Odd aroma maybe its the passion fruit? but it is definitely not grape fruity. taste follows nose also a dryness like wine. There is also a slight bitterness. Overall this is a different tasting IPA, it is NOT citrusy in as far as we are use to in the USA. It is good though.

(Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Stockholm, 12 Sep 2014) Reddish amber colour with brief, beige head. Fruity, slightly sourish nose with dried fruit, oak wood, buttery malt, caramel and tropical fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, oak wood, dark fruit, apricots, black-currant and a bitter-sweet finish with earthy hops. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. A bit weird, but really tasty. Nice one.

Aroma is just as I expected, the new world hops invade your nostrils and I get a little high. Mangos, gooseberries, kiwi and other exotic notes try to get the upper hand. The taste is a lot more malty than you might think, and that is good, there’s a lot more body to it that gives it a bit more attitude. The aftertaste disappears a bit too quickly for it to be a really good contender, but it is good, no doubt.

Taste; fruity roasted malts, hops, citrus, resin, wood, berry peels, citrus peels. Somewhat dry, nice in the mouth, fine carbonation. Overall alright fruity ipa.
