COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beware, this is a BIG beer. Brimming with luscious roasted coffee and chocolate malt flavours which are balanced by a brisk bitterness and bold freshness from the hops. If you’re feeling politically incorrect try it with your favourite cigar, or a dram of your best single malt whisky. Or, if your tooth is sweeter, why not jump in at the deep end with the most decadent dessert of all; half a bottle in a glass with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (beer geeks like us know it as the Imperial Stout Float). Or simply enjoy it on its own as a decadent dessert or night cap - the perfect winter warmer! If you don’t already know the history of Russian Imperial Stouts please check it out on the internet, it’s a good story. But remember, although based on that century-old classic style, this beer is a very modern interpretation, like all our beers!

50 cl. bottle split @ Delirium Hoppy Loft with sebletitje & ajax25g // black with a very small tanned head // smell is mocha, coffee, liquorish, touch light vinous, chocolate going closer to milk chocolate // taste is bitter, coffee, chocolate, very light sweet, roasted, coffee, bitter finish with light kiwi hops, light bitter white grapes, bitter roast finish, lightly nutty // medium bodied, ok carb. prefer my impy stouts a touch thicker // good stout but nowhere near the top // glad to tick New Zealand & apparently their highest rated one as well // I should try out the Imperial Stout Float one of these days

50cl bottle @ Delirium Hoppy loft, shared with 77ships and ajax25g.

Bottle. Very dark brown, small to average and fully diminishing dark brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, roasted malt and some coffee and faint licorice, light oak. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, roasted malt and some coffee light licorice, light oak and light alcohol. Finish is average to long, malty and lightly sweetish, light oak with some bitter hoppyness, lots of roasted malt and some coffee with light licorice and light alcohol. Really nice IS with firm roastiness- not too sweet/not too much coffee.

Bottle. Opaque, black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, licorice, oats, ash and biscuity caramel malt. Quite light. Taste is light sweet (quite dry) and medium bitter with nice coffee notes. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Pleasant imperial stout but nothing too interesting.

TET (780) - FINLAND - MAY 18, 2012
Batch 39, BBE AUG/14. A black beer with a medium, dense and beautiful creamy, brown head. Aroma is great, stong chocolate and roastiness are nicely balanced, liquirice, some coffee and milky sourness. Taste is roasted, salt liquirice, some chocolate sweetness, herbal bitterness increase in the aftertaste and dries the mouth. Full bodied, smooth and very pleasant to drink. Very balanced IS with enough of nuancess, velvety smooth drinkability finished the pleasure.

Small very dark-greige hed over practically black-brown beer. Lots of dark chocolate, bitter & sweet, tad of coffee and a volatile whiff of ammonia-like smell; maltsyrup. Chocolate, very bitter; maltcookies, +/- sweet in the background, chocolate-covered. Tiny bit of ashes, green leaves as holly. Chocolate lingers on. Warming up, maltsweetness appearing in force.Very slighlty burning MF; full bodied and viscous-slick; well-carbonated. Nice, if not really spectacular stout.

Bottle. Pours jet black with no light getting through and with a lasting foamy tan head. Big aromas of liquorice, dark chocolate, roasted grain and vanilla. Flavour is big and roasty with piney hops and dark fruit notes joining those displayed in the aroma. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with soft carbonation and a lingering roasty, bitter finish. A really well crafted Imperial Stout that doesn’t overreach and try and cram too much in, but rather strikes a very nice balance between the roasty creaminess, the faint chocolate sweetness and the hoppy bitterness.

Dark pour, almost black, small amount of light gets through on the edges. Small tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, coffee, and a bit of smokiness. Medium body. Tastes are consistent with the aroma. Very solid RIS from New Zealand. I will probably pick up another bottle to age.

Geruch schwer dunkelmalzig, röstig, Kaffee, geröstetes Brot. Dichter, dunkelmalziger, ölig-schwerer Start. Mitte noch öliger, Schokolade, kaffee, Röstaromen, dabei leicht süß, weinartig. Bittermalziger, schokoladiger Abgang. Erscheint röstig, trockenbitter und samtig. sehr gutes Imperial Stout - trotz der Dichte noch gut trinkbar.
