COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beware, this is a BIG beer. Brimming with luscious roasted coffee and chocolate malt flavours which are balanced by a brisk bitterness and bold freshness from the hops. If you’re feeling politically incorrect try it with your favourite cigar, or a dram of your best single malt whisky. Or, if your tooth is sweeter, why not jump in at the deep end with the most decadent dessert of all; half a bottle in a glass with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (beer geeks like us know it as the Imperial Stout Float). Or simply enjoy it on its own as a decadent dessert or night cap - the perfect winter warmer! If you don’t already know the history of Russian Imperial Stouts please check it out on the internet, it’s a good story. But remember, although based on that century-old classic style, this beer is a very modern interpretation, like all our beers!

500mL bottle in a duvel glass. Pours black and has the consistency of motor oil with a big brown head. I get the coffee on the nose as well a an almost creamy chocolate note and i can slightly detect a chinook or magnum aroma? This one is definantly a sipper has a huge flavour to it with so much going on. I get that roasted coffee flavour as well as slight chocolate and a slight spicey backround but its mingles together so well. Genereally i find most RIS have a huge roasted coffee note that overpowers but the coffee flavour in this beer doesn’t dominate it compliments. A must try beer.

A really good stout. Aromas of dark chocolate, burnt malts, booze, some red fruit. Flavors are dark and bitter chocolate with lots of roasted malts. Some licorice and berries. Sweet and bitter. Excellent.

DWG; Bottle 500 ml. Pours dark brown with a moderate to large, lasting, creamy, lacing and tan head. Nose is heavy malt, coffee and chocolate, licorice, dark, dried, ripe fruits and spice. Taste is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a lasting, sweeet, warming finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft. Cheers Søren Eriksen!

Mørk/sort farve med minimalt skum. Lukt av kaffe, malt, sjokolade, røyk og lakris. Smak av sjokolade, malt, kaffe, lakris, frukt og krydder. Vinmonopolet.

500mL bottle BB 13/2/17 Sump oil in appearance. Holds a dense deep tan head - looks beautiful. Intense aroma; cocoa nibs, charred toast & nuts, treacle, raisins, vanilla, licorice & earthy spice. Properly rich, thick, oil, low carbonation, lingers long on the palate. All things black continue on the body;charred grain, coffee grinds, bitter cocoa, raisins, leafy hops with a firm drying bitterness cutting through the richness, & long warming finish. Very nice indeed.

"What a nice surprise this was! Beautiful pour, near ink black, leaves a firm chocolate lacing in the glass. Aroma has roasted coffee, dark chocolate, slight nuts, hops, smoke, and a hint of alcohol. Feel is light for a 10th brew, but deceptively chewy and super smooth. Flavor is all the aroma had minus the alcohol. Phenomenal beer.

Tap @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Pours black with a good-sized, classy, dark-latte colored head. Aroma is a lot of roast, coffee, some vanilla. Taste is semi-sweet with a huge hit of vanilla, coffee, roast. Finishes with a strong mocha. Also salty liquorice and grapefruit mix of hops mixed with the roasted malts. Complex and very enjoyable. Full with medium carbonation.

Pours a very deep black with a low, very thin, tan head. Aroma has a hefty, well balanced roasted, light chocolate, light rye and a touch of smoky cigar. Flavor has a dark chocolate flavor with some light malty notes, light alcohol, modest roasted presence with a touch of coffee and dark fruit at the finish. Body is very thick and oily with just a touch of alcohol. Carbonation is very low and very fine which accentuates the thickness of the beer. Overall a fantastic brew!
