4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500mL bottle in a duvel glass. Pours black and has the consistency of motor oil with a big brown head. I get the coffee on the nose as well a an almost creamy chocolate note and i can slightly detect a chinook or magnum aroma? This one is definantly a sipper has a huge flavour to it with so much going on. I get that roasted coffee flavour as well as slight chocolate and a slight spicey backround but its mingles together so well. Genereally i find most RIS have a huge roasted coffee note that overpowers but the coffee flavour in this beer doesn’t dominate it compliments. A must try beer.

Pours the darkest black I have seen for a stout. Tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and hops. Taste of chocolates, roasted malts and vanilla. Really fresh and crisp!

It poured an almost black color with a beige head. The aroma was of roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, some hops, alcohol and lactic notes. The taste was similar with roastiness and a good amount of leafy hops, lots of chocolate and coffee and some alcohol. Very nice.

A dark brown to black beer with a small light brown head, it quickly disapears. The nose is roasted malts, coffee, light sweet and has a light pepery touch. It is a medium to full bodied beer, with little carbonation. The taste is soft, coffee, roasted malts, light sweet, chocolate and pepery in the back. Aftertaste is coffee, medium and not very long. Overall it is a light and soft stout, you dont taste the alcohol.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
An imperial stout who successfully fit in the category. Dark almost black beer in color, small brown head, with regular retention.
The aroma has some increase yeast notes like cheese, there are some coffee notes, and a slight floral notes but they are not too strong. When is tasted it has a full body, medium sourness, very bitter, and the malt flavors itself are lost. Giving you a very alcoholic and bitter ending.

The head dissolved quickly then left spotty lacing. Dark fruits, roasty grain, carob, some woody & leafy hops up front. Charred grain bitterness and a touch of cocoa, plus leafy hops. Finishes with charred grain, carob, figs & a bit of the ABV bite.

Glorious impy stout that shouldn’t be drunk on such a glorious sunny day as today. Even though scorching outside this is a glorious impy stout. In contrast to my other favourites in this genre this is more delicate and should I say it thin because it lacks that rich sugary impy goodness than most have, though it does however make up for it in how balanced this beer is. So balanced this could be my new summer beer! Given the temp outside the icecream floater may have been a great option!
