COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
My idea of a strong ale was brewed with loads of malt, hops, jaggery and a touch of manuka smoke.
It was fermented with a clean ale yeast to let the ingredients speak for themselves without getting interrupted by too many esters.
After all that it was aged for 5 months on American oak, then refermented in the bottle.
Cheers – Søren Eriksen – Brewer
Hops - Pacific Jade, Chinook
Malt - Pale Ale, Munich, Special B
Yeast - US-05
Other - Manuka Smoke, Jaggery (raw sugar) and American Oak

bottle at mondial 2014, mtl. pours cloudy dark golden with a small off-white cap, some retention and lacing. piney, alcohol-bathed and soaked sweet fruits, sweet bready and honeyed malts, plain sugars - white and brown - cloying. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily and sticky, sweet and assertive grassy-spicy-citrusy-piney finish. meh.

skortila (4483) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JUN 15, 2014
Bottled. Full 33cl sample. The aroma has raisins, figs, caramel, piney hops. Clear, brown coloured beer with not much head. Initially off-white medium. The taste is moderate sweet and moderate bitter. There are molasses, raisins, resin, figs, caramel. Pretty nice. But definately not worth the price. 8 Wired is pretty expensive in Holland.

Bottle. at home. Miedium high creamy and lasting off-white head. Orange brown body with a lot of bubbles. Fruity wineous mildly smoked aroma. Highly carbonated alcohol dominated roasted malt fruity and pretty hoppy flavor with a long bitter finish.

AgentAle (640) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 10, 2014
Aroma is rich malts, caramel, fig and slight smokiness. Taste is sweet roasty malts, similar tastes to aroma and the malt character is met with a fairly well balanced bitterness and finishes smoothly... Overall quite smoothly for 11% abv. The hop profile is an earthy murky flavor with not too much tang or tanin aftertaste. Appearance is a clear copper body with a pearl/beige head that retains fairly poorly which ia fine for the beer style.

mattyhennessy (289) - Highton, AUSTRALIA - JUN 6, 2014
This is a huge beer and is appropriately named. Almost syrupy texture. Pours red amber with a beige head. Smells super sweet with some stonefruit and citrus. The taste is of sticky toffee and caramel with a pine citrus fruity finish. It’s dangerously printable despite the 11% abv. Slightly oily with low carbonation.

spacecube (806) - Leeds, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2014
330ml bottle, pours deep red, amber, dark brown, with a small head and a hazy translucent body. Aroma has caramel & toffee malt, shortbread, hints of citrus, dark fruit, blueberrry, the oak aging comes throgh nicely adding richness to the palate, which is thick and creamy. Almost barley wine like, but very drinkable for 11& abv. Very nice.

Plovmand (6355) - Helsinge, DENMARK - JUN 1, 2014
Bottle. Pours mostly clear deep amber with a creamy beige head. The aroma is hoppy and oaky with some deep malty notes. Sweet malty flavor with notes of oak and light smoke. Woody finish. The alcohol is noticeable in the finish but the hops helps it to be quite drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lagerboy (1216) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 1, 2014
330 ml bottle. Opaque orange brown, tan foam fades quickly. Rich aroma of toffee and molasses. Boozy brown sugar treacle taste, too sweet toffee/caramel malts, some woodsmoke and herb. Softer carbonation, fuller bodied, low hopped. Strong and cloying and DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)
