4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap. Pours a solid black with a foamy brown head and lacing. It has a rich aroma of hoppy pine, coffee, dark malt, and some dark chocolate. The flavor is rich coffee and malt with some hops in the middle and a long, dark chocolate and hop finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Mikkeller, Bangkok. Poured a dark mahogany with a frothy tan head. The aroma is yeast, creamy spice roasted malt. The flavour is strong bitter with a crisp refreshing roasty grass hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied witn soft carbonation. More like a black IPA than a stout imo.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Probably the most standard and boring of the 8 wired beers I have tried. It neither pushes the boundaries of the style or blows me away. It needed to pack a bit more punch.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Unusually ’usual’ for an 8 Wired brew but a nice drop nonetheless. Makes a nice lead-in to their outstanding imperial version of the style.

Lovely coffee flavour comes though this delicious dark malty stout. A little hoppy, remniscent of the Funk Estate Black IPA or the Garage Project Aro Noir but doesn’t quite go that far hop-wise.
A dark beer but not heavy in any way (looking at you, Guinness!), very enjoyable experience from one of my favourite breweries.
