3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: Fruity, orange, light-medium licorice and coffee
Palate: Initially smooth turning to bitter. Full-bodied.
Flavor: Initial flavors of ripe orange and tropical fruit with chocolate notes are followed by a surge of hops, assisted by carbonation, on the mid-palate. The finish becomes increasingly dry with rising bitterness and licorice and charred coffee flavors.
Comments: Perhaps Brown Ale is misunderstood. What I’ve had has been pretty bland and dull. But this has plenty of character with evolving flavors and texture, which, for me, means complexity.

AROMA: bread, toast, nuts, roasty

OVERALL: too bitter and the sweetness does not work with it, not very interesting set of aromas.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown almost black with a big beige head and a slight coffee bean/dark choc aroma very faint. The taste is much better.. full of flavour and what i have come to expect from 8wired beers. Slight hopped resin splash of flavour backed by a nice light dark malt canvas. Overall the best brown ale i have had to date.
