COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saisons have been around for ages. Traditionally brewed by Belgian and French farmers to provide refreshment during harvest. I’m guessing that flavour wasn’t a main concern back then; the priority was to provide a beverage that was safe to drink, because water usually wasn’t. Never the less, over time they developed a beverage chrarissed by beer geeks of the modern world. The alcohol content was low, so the workers could consume enough to keep hydrated and still perform their job: To load the barn with enough barley for next years brewing season. I bet these hardworking, humble farmers never imagined, that centuries later, their style of brewing would inspire brewers from all over the world. As all our beers, this is a very modern, you might say new world, interpretation of this style. Based on the tradition we have used a French Saison yeast, which provides a plethora of funky, earthy, very "Belgian" flavours. From there we have upped the ante a fair bit by doubling the amount of malt, and thereby the alcohol, and loaded the kettle with punchy Nelson Sauvin hops. Unlike the original, this is not a beer meant to be drunk by the gallon. Moderation is the key for full enjoyment of all great beers.

Cloudy pale peach-gold pour with a 2 finger, super creamy off white head. Aroma is loaded with sweet stone fruit, citrus and sweet floral notes, light dusty sweet grain, a touch of pineapple and sharp fruity esters. Flavor is light toast, sweet cereal and seedy notes up front, followed by doughy yeast, sharp citrus and stone fruits, spicy hop notes, pepper, a little too much booziness and slightly bitter lemon-lime finish. Medium body with a slightly chalky, but lightly syrupy feel. Good stuff.

Appearance: brassy orange, eggshell-colored frothy head, generous lacing. Aroma: earthy, with citrus hops, apricot, light pepper and funk. Taste: big flavors, surprisingly malty, with caramel and toffee, scads of dry citrusy hops (grapefruit, blood orange), with cracked pepper, light funk, and hay. Finish: long, earthy, dry, with lingering sauvin character and just a hint of funk; palate is surprisingly chewy. Notes: A big saison, with the typical funk restrained enough that you could have just called it a regular Belgian ale. The hops shine, but are nicely balanced.

On tap at BrewDog Camden. Clear gold lasting white head. Acreams Nelson sauvin on the aroma. Fresh as hell. Wow. A little bit of saison. Amazing hop a little bit of sweaty sox. Awesome.

Wish lister and Another winner from 8 Wired, though a very expensive one. This frothy hazy golden brew is well balanced between bright citrusy spicy hops and some light (lighter than expected) barnyard funk and a champagne like feel. I prefer the Big Smoke just a touch for a few bucks less, but this is damn good too. High 4.1-4.2, Smoke was a 4.2+."

Tap at brewdog, Clapham. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is light bubblegum, light green veg... Light body, medium carbonation. Light caramel, grass, pine, light pepper, light dry meat, candy... Slightly too sweet, but tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Funk, citrus, fruit, earthiness, it’s all happening. Beautiful beer with fairly light carbonation, nice mouthfeel and very well balanced. Nothing overpowering to this saison.

Pours hazy orange with a medium compact white head. Aromas of citrus, honey, peach, grapefruit, funk. Taste is citrus, honey, kiwi, grapefruit, peach, funk, mango. Mouthfeel is smooth and not too sprightly with low carbonation. Very good!

Pours a very nice light orange to gold color. Smell is a little funky to me. Some hops with a little sour smell. Taste is dry. Sticks to my tongue. Little hoppy. Not my favorite style but it’s not terrible.
