IPAs are great but sometimes you just donít want the amount of alcohol that comes with most of the good ones. In this spirit we brewed Semiconductor. an IPA designed to be drunk by the gallon, if you are that thirsty.

Keg @ brewdog shoreditch. A very respectable session ipa, which, irrespective of its low abv has all the hoppiness and fruitiness you could ask for. Unfortunately, thereís a hint of skunkiness here which drags the beer down in the aftertaste. Still decent though.

330 ml bottle. Pours a golden colour with a small head. Aroma of rich floral hops, tangerine and mango. Flavour of pale malts, floral hops, orange pith, kiwi and grapefruit. Light bodied. Soft carbonation and good drinkability. Nice one.

33 cl bottle. BBE 08.01.2015.
Pours clear golden color with a small head. Nice hoppy aroma, citric fruits, grass and pine. Citric fruits, grapefruits and gooseberries on the flavor, hops and some wooden notes. Harsh bitter palate, lingering bitter aftertaste. Quite nice and tasty for the low abv.

33 cl bottle @ tiong, BBE 08.01.2015
Aroma is sweet and rather rich with tropical fruits and pineapples. Feels like 7% IPA. Flavour has aggressive hops, grapefruit, gooseberry bush leaves, citrus, biscuits and some orange. Also some gluey tones. Still, rather nice for a 4,4%.

330ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop

BBE 08/01/15 - Pours dark orange with a smooth white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, caramely malts, grassy and pineapple. Taste is smooth, grassy and fruity with some aged hops and hints of malts. Finish is a bit stuffy and watery with some grassy hoppiness. Okay, but doesnít feel super fresh.

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear straw-gold with a thin white head and light carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, peach and lemon. Taste is light at first but then a crisp citrus bite kicks in. Thereís a bitter hop note at the back end. Quite a clean finish with a lightly spicy aftertaste. Does what it says on the box.

Pour is hazy saffron with patchy white film. Meh. Aroma is bold and praiseworthy. Peach and light grapefruit, with pine and spicy notes. Lots there, but the melange is not as appealing as it should be. Needs more softer notes and less harsh scents driving it. Taste is sadly insipid. Very, very light palate (not watery thankfully). Flavor appears only in the aftertaste. Some straw, more spicy notes and spiky bitterness. If the intention was to produce a light beer, 8W has succeeded. Unfortunately, flavor and presence have been sacrificed as a result.

Tap at Brewdog, Sheffield. Lightly hazy, pale amber. Film of white head. Fusty citrus. Light, minty herb. Taste is mineral dry and bitter. Crunchy palate. Dry, bitter finish.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours clear golden amber with a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are citrus, peach, and pine - with a slightly bitter finish

From a bottle. Pours a clear orange with a tiny head, big aroma of malty hops, smooth crisp fruity flavours, itís a great drop.
