COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IPAs are great but sometimes you just donít want the amount of alcohol that comes with most of the good ones. In this spirit we brewed Semiconductor. an IPA designed to be drunk by the gallon, if you are that thirsty.

Very pleasant sessionable wee ale. Hoppy, fruity and great bitterness. Great to have a good tasting session able ale.

(Bottle) Slightly hazy amber with nice, but short-lived, white head. Lovely aroma of exotic fruits with hints of pine and biscuit. Nice palate - medium body with good carbonation. The taste is dominated by hops. The finish is quite intensely hoppy bitterness. Thereís a little light maltiness at the start and some peppery spice, but other than that itís all hops. I like hops, but they need some balancing flavours.

330ml bottle pours a golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is light tropical fruits (perhaps mango and passion fruit) with some hints of caramel and cereal grains. Taste is a fruity and malty sweetness with a light pine and grapefruit hop bitterness. Light bodied with decent carbonation. A well done session ale that I could just drink all night long.

Almost as good as other 8-Wired offerings but it tastes a lot less hoppy and citrusy. Almost like they cut the hops when they cut the ABV %. Still a great IPA - see my other 8-Wired reviews for more thorough ratings.

Scopey (6239) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2014
Keg at Taps beer bar KL. It pours lightly hazy golden-amber with a decent white head. The nose is fresh citrus, light florals, toasted grain, orange, wax and resin. The taste is crisp, refreshingly bitter, pine needles, toasted grass, lemon peel, touch of soap and assorted florals with a dry, bitter finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty crushable and refreshing, especially when you are in a country that is blazing hot all the time.

Draft at Mikkeller Bar. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have resiny, floral hops, lemon, dry toast, flavor softens at the finish, general bitterness, just not enough going on to keep me interested.

ALLOVATE (2349) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 9, 2014
Brilliant, sunny orange body with very little visible carbonation. Head goes up but sadly falls with similar haste. Settles a wafer of white with a little suds gripping the meniscus. Piney, resinous, sappy and floral is the brightly hopped nose with a sweet, plump, tropical fruit twist - very pleasant. Rather dry on the palate ending moderately bitter, gassy and crisp. Lean body; seemingly well lagered for an ale. Carbonation is pressing on the tip but softens as it head towards the tonsils. Clean, piney, wood-chip finish. Light, sun-drenched grain note offers up on the mid-palate. Fruit esters and fruity hop notes somehow faintly vacant but if your imagination moves you then a little lychee, grapefruit and lemon grass comes through. For 4.4% ABV it doesnít tantalise (Iíve had quite a few session bitters and pale ales strike well above this one!), but it does the trick as far as quaffable in quantity. Not bad, not great! 330ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Rating from early 2014. Itís nice to have an IPA that doesnít overdose on the hops and one that you can drink a few of without coating your tongue with hops.
