COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IPAs are great but sometimes you just don’t want the amount of alcohol that comes with most of the good ones. In this spirit we brewed Semiconductor. an IPA designed to be drunk by the gallon, if you are that thirsty.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Stunning aroma of pink grapefruit, pine, lightly peppery malt and those little watermelon flavoured sweets I used to devour when I was younger. Flavour of mandarin, lime and a hint of vine tomatoes. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Light fizz. Subtle and delicious.

Not backward in being hop forward. You get the classic 8Wired fruity aroma & initial taste (peaches, apricots, lemons) followed by a huge bitter finish. A thirst quenching session ale. Rated by BrewTom

Bottle split with Kenny in the special surprise room tasting, Amsterdam Inntel pre Borefts livener, 25/09/14. Clear light golden with a good sized off white covering. Nose is citric lead hops, straw, lemon rind, earthy notes, duty, light mustiness in the hop profile. Taste comprises dusty hops, hint if Unicum, citric peel, bitter orange, spice, mineral rinse, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation with a lick of spritz, semi drying close. So so for the style, hops seem a bit stale, too fusty and dusty. Expected more from this brewer.

0.33l bottle from Bierkoning, enjoyed @ Borefts 2014. A near clear one this, only a soft blur in the golden body. A small kinda bubbly and lacing bright white head is safely placed on the top. Dry hoppy kinda minerallish aroma here. Traces of hay and cat pee, mild citrus and some sour grapes. Not bad really. Nice and average on the carbonation and thin oily in the mouth. Doesn’t taste all that bad this. Dry hay, lots of nice hoppy elements. Yeah, it’s a little mineralish, but it kinda suits it. Easy to drink and quite easy to like. Could have a few of these. 26.09.2014

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark golden colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy fruity, slightly resinous, hoppy aroma, Notes of grapefruit, lemon, mandarine. Taste is initially bitter hoppy, minimally papery and chalky, a touch of grapefruit and white parts of orange zest, slightly watery; more effectual, juicy finish with lemon notes and hints of pine. Faint middle part, in other respects very nice.

Keg at BD Shoreditch. Orangey pour. Nice grapefruit nose, little bit of orange blossom and light tropical fruit too. Biscuit, light caramel and lots of citrus fruit in the taste, good juiciness, some mango. Light/medium body. In great form, tastes fresh in spite of its mega journey. NZ brewing is in a good place.
