3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20500ml bottle. Pours a clear golden amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts reasonably well and leaves acceptable lacing. Potent tropical hops aromas blend with floral notes and some nutty malt. Powerful grapefruit and pineapple hops up front lead into some toasty, slightly charry malt in the mid-palate, with more pineapple and a touch of mango coming into the finish. There is a lingering bitter aftertaste. This is a very nice DIPA, and only improved by the fact that I have just spent three months in Africa and the Middle East, where the beer is either terrible or totally non-existent!

In short: A very bitter hops extravaganza. For hopheads. I liked it.
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed one week after purchase, however fresh a New-Zealand beer can be in a Vermont store. Tasted fresh though.
The look: Mostly cloudy dark orange body topped by a small off-white head.
In long: Nose is seriously hoppy with bitter grapefruits, pine-tree and just about everything that screams high alpha acids. Taste probably has some malts, maybe, I suspect so, that what the rumors are saying, but I can’t confirm nor deny these rumors. More seriously there is some honeyed and caramelized cereals, but they are buried by an overload of hops. White grapefruits, acidic and bitter lemons, bitter orange peels, a bit of pine tree in the back, more.... Bitterness is razor-sharp, not really resinous, just a whole lot of alpha acids, and then some more. This is a beer for bitterness lover, the kind of bitterness that makes you make a face like when you bite in a lemon. I liked it but honestly I don’t think this is a well-made beer, this is just an exercise in excess, a guilty pleasure that worked for me. I enjoyed this Superconductor, but in all honesty I don’t really understand superconductivity, science is hard, I understand why most right-wing replublicans prefer to simply ignore it.

Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is caramel, citrus, peach and grapefruit. Flavour is caramel, alcohol, grapefruit, peach, citrus and tropical fruit. Bitter aftertaste.

Pours clear dark golden with a small, creamy, white head. Aroma is classic IIPA. Resin, peach, pineapple, oranges, fat maltiness. Medium carbonation, dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is nice, piney, melon, oranges, apricot, light earthy. Mild vinious with a lingering bitter finish. Yum.

Draught @ CBC 2013: Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. Aroma: Herbs, flowers, caramel, citrus, pine and some tropical fruits. Flavour: Flowers, caramel, sweetness, citrus, grape, pine, herbs and some fruits. Medium to full bodied. ends herbal bitter.

[5/4/13] Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Orange to amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, orange marmalade and piney and resinous hops, a bit stale. Flavor has some malt sweetness, a bit caramelly and honey-ish, and a very bitter finish, a bit alcoholic. Medium-bodied.
