3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sadly didn’t try the other two variations - very balanced malty body with lovely sweet pear and spice estery characters. Defies the 9% abv.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I was damn pleased to get a 330ml glass of this having missed the other two yeast varieties (Westmalle and Unibroue). This poured cloudy and golden with a small but long lasting head. The aroma was fruity, peach or nectarine and not much else. There was a definite estery nose to it. First taste was all fruity flavours, warming alcohol, some sweetness and a bitter finish. As it warmed up the flavour expanded and some malt came through to round out the fruity flavour. I would have expected more spicy phenolic notes with this yeast but it was all fruit on my palate. A touch sweet rather than dry, still extremely drinkable. I hope Soren settles on a yeast and brings us an 8 Wired Tripel real soon.
