COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like an Irishman on holiday in the Canaries, this beer has a red tint but with a chilled out mellow feel. A traditional Irish style with a twist. It has subtle caramel notes balanced with a pleasant fragrant aroma from New Zealand and Australian hops. Goes really well with roast beef, lamb or a traditional Irish stew, but beware: keep out of direct sunlight.

Bottle at the Long Dock, Carrigahalt, 05/12/14. Reddish amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is biscuit, toffee, malt tones, toasted brown sugar. Taste comprises caramel, red berry fruit, biscuit malt, sweet tones, light hop presence. Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough for style, good balance, some hops evident, not one that runs the blandometer into amber!

A good red ale in the style of craft beers. Eight degrees has hit the nail on the head with this beer. It has hints of caramel and a hoppy taste. A really good beer in the Irish tradition.

Draught. Red colour, head does not last long and shows poor lacing. Aroma is malty, but a bit too heavy and too much alcohol in it. Average.

12 oz bottle. Pours a translucent reddish brown, medium to small off white head, very little lacing. Aroma of bread, caramel, tropical fruit, marmalade. Taste is the same. Extremely well balance, and for a style that is usually overwhelmingly sweet malt that becomes cloying after a very short time, this is a rarity due to being enjoyable bottle after bottle, good session ale.

Bottle bought in Dublin. Deep amber coloured, almost copper, with a thin head. Has a sweet aroma with a nice light caramel texture and taste. Somewhat gritty in the palate, there’s a very light spice evident.

Keg in Pivni, York. Pours ruby with a frothy cream head. Quite a malty brew, but a bit short of flavour really. Decent and bitter.

Bottle 0.33l. Pours reddish amber with small off white head. Aroma is fruity, red berries, grainy. Taste is light sweet, light to medium bitter, slightly fruity flavour of red berries, touch of sourness. Aftertaste has bitter notes. Medium carbonation. Crisp beer which is very refreshing and highly drinkable.

Shared a 33cl bottle from Auchan (Luxembourg). Pours a reddish golden colour with a small off-white lacing. Aroma is malty, hoppy and caramel. Average to soft carbonation and light body. Taste is medium bitter and light sweet with a dry finish. A bit hoppy. Overall, a very drinkable beer although not very consistent.
