2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
Very dark in the glass, malty-sweet nose. The beer starts more sweet than bitter, more smooth than dry. For my taste a bit too sweet and to undefined. The mainpart is sweetish-smooth, no deepness, no real dryness, no real roasted hints. The aftertaste is a bit viscous, not very deep in aroma, sweetish-smooth and only slightly roasted.
Not a very good stout - and much too sweet to be refreshing. --> 7/11/7/7

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle received in trade from RobertDale, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a solid black with a decent sized creamy tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Wow that is a bit of smoke and burnt sugar in the nose. Chocolate and caramel provide support in the aroma with hints of earth as well. The flavor is a bit less remarkable than the aroma. Mild caramel and chocolate notes with hints of smoke and earth. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a watery somewhat oily mouthfeel. Not a bad porter if not a bit on the smoky burnt end of the style. I would have loved a bit more body, and some creaminess in the mouthfeel.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This beer is from Lebanon. Can they even make beer in Lebanon? Like is it even physically possible? I thought Lebanon was one of those countries like Rhodesia or French Indochina that has since been renamed by the people who actually live there. In any case, I am excited to try it so letís get going, shall we?
OK, so... the long and the short of it is aside from being from Lebanon, this is not a particularly remarkable beer. I mean, it is a porter. It is brown and stuff and comes in a bottle. I got mine from the store. It has some light roasted character going on and is a touch on the sweet side which brings out the chocolate a bit. My only real complain is a small amount of ashiness that comesout in the finish. I will drink some of this next time Iím in Lebanon and see if it isnít any better fresh. That is, I will do so if Lebanon is a real country that still exists, which is debatable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma sweet coffee-toffee, little vanilla, burnt sugars.
Pours dark brown to black with big light brown head.
Taste of burnt malts, coffee, and moderate bitterness. Not too sweet. Some herbs right at end, thyme?

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[Bottle (11.2oz)] Pours a very dark amber-brown with a small diminishing frothy beige head. Somewhat nice aroma of dark chocolate, dark fruit and dark malt -- simple but pleasant. Watery flavour is also chocolaty along with roasted malt, light hops and a dry, short bitter finish. Light to average bodied.
Too thin, a good but not great Porter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Roasted coffee and a little vanilla from the malt. Lightly carbonated and a little grassy in the hops. Salty on the first taste but the sweetness grows. Ticks the boxes as a porter but not overly exciting.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
355 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.
Clear deep blackish brown colour with dirt-like yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head and beige foam which last for 1 minute; Minimal sticky lacing and active carbonation; Fragrant aroma of roasted malt, with caramel, sweet toffee, double cream, light vanilla, dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and light grass; Very light sweet + strong smoky taste of roast malt, with light toffee, light black coffee and dark chocolate, faint cola, faint lemon and very light grassy hops; Light body, watery palate; Taste profile is thin, almost non-sweet roasted malt in a very smoky but watery, Cola-like background. Beyond that, all other Porter elements like toffee and coffee are very thin and hollow. Spikes of nuttiness and creaminess are not enough to cheer things up; Hoppiness is very low lemon and grass in aroma and taste, Bare bone bitterness came through very slowly. Muted straw-like finish; Wet after taste, fairly easy to mouth.
Comments: I applaud the 961 guys for their effort and innovations to make many interesting brews, sometimes with a Middle Eastern twist, but this time their take on Porter is rather disappointing. Good looks and smoky nose aside, itís body is too watery, not enough cream and coffee, and hoppiness is next to none. Below par and not worth revisiting unless they fine-tune it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black with a large tan head.
Nose shows roasted malt, oatmeal, lightly burnt bread. Quite moreish.
More light roast as a flavour but with little to support it. Some toasty malt again.
Carbonation could be a little higher.

Bottle. . Poured black with a small tan head and minimal lacing. Aroma was some roasted and toasted malts. Flavor was of roasted malts chocolate and a tiny bit of vanilla. Thin body. Too easy to drink quickly. no reason to take my time.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A slightly lager-ish Porter but true to style. Some mild coffee and chocolate notes from adjunct grains. Nothing extravagant, just easy drinking.
