Great example of a porter, big smooth mouthfeel and complex dark roasted character including chocolate and roasted nuts. Had one on tap recently with a distinctly vinegary finish so assume the keg was old. From the bottle it's fine, not a hint of the sourness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark in the glass, malty-sweet nose. The beer starts more sweet than bitter, more smooth than dry. For my taste a bit too sweet and to undefined. The mainpart is sweetish-smooth, no deepness, no real dryness, no real roasted hints. The aftertaste is a bit viscous, not very deep in aroma, sweetish-smooth and only slightly roasted.
Not a very good stout - and much too sweet to be refreshing. --> 7/11/7/7

Bottle received in trade from RobertDale, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a solid black with a decent sized creamy tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Wow that is a bit of smoke and burnt sugar in the nose. Chocolate and caramel provide support in the aroma with hints of earth as well. The flavor is a bit less remarkable than the aroma. Mild caramel and chocolate notes with hints of smoke and earth. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a watery somewhat oily mouthfeel. Not a bad porter if not a bit on the smoky burnt end of the style. I would have loved a bit more body, and some creaminess in the mouthfeel.
