COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired from “Belgian Witbier”, 961 Witbier has a 5.3% ABV. The added coriander and orange peel add a sweet and spicy aroma. The light acidity and low bitterness of this unfiltered beer makes it perfect for those who prefer a light and sweet beer. This beer is bottle conditioned and has natural yeast sediment in the bottle.

330 ml bottle at the Bread Republic in Beirut Lebanon. Pours a coudly yellow with a small fast to go head. Aroma is Citrus, grass and wheat. Taste is a watery citrus, wheat and lemon. Palate is nice but there is something lacking in this beer. t is however a great effort again.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique July 2013. Hazy when poured into a glass and has a big white head. Spice and some fruit in the aroma and flavour. An easy drinking beer that would be even better on a hot day.

Aroma: fruity, apple/cider. Appearance: pale hazy yellow, medium frothy head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: fruity notes, bland, light carbonation. Overall: sub-standard Witbier, lacks yeast notes and a decent palate! Bottle from Sam’s Beverage, Beirut.

Bottle at Sue Ellen. Pours hazy pale yellow. Taste of bananas, straws and orange. Most true to the style of the 961 brews (brewery not count) I have had.

This is a mildly tart blond ale. Supposedly, it’s a wit but I am not really getting any Belgian yeast character or spice. It’s pretty OK for a blond but it’s not very memorable, unfortunately. I can drink it though so good enough for me.

From 33 cl bottle. Aroma of sour orange and some wheat. Pours yellow and a little cloudy. Virtually no head. Wheat sweetness, some bitterness, moderate sour taste. Small bitterness afterwards.

Delicate citrus taste. My blunt nose failed to find the spices. Not crazy about it but then again I’m not generally big on witbiers.

Not a great wheat beer. Almost non-existant spice character. Very drinkable like a pilsner or lager. It is good to find a wheat beer that doesn’t overdo the fruity esters, but the flavour is way too minimal here.
