3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[750ml bottle, Tyne Bank Brewery] Pours brown, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted barley, chocolate, and some wood - on the taste, more chocolate than the other elements, maybe a touch of sweet oaky bourbon on the finish. Still, a good solid porter, very smooth throughout

Dark ruby brown...clear...thin off white head...some lacing
Aroma - light roast malts...some dark sugars..hint of oak wood
Taste - light roast malts..some dark sugars...bit of treacle...sweet dark malts..bit of wood but not getting much bourbon here...rather plain...alcohol well hidden though
Palate - soft carb...thin to medium palate. Finish as main flavour...some lingering roast bitterness...easy drinking for 5.4%
Overall - Pleasant enough but I expected more flavour at the abv.....it was a bit bland
