Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 25, 2007 Bottled. A deep red beer going towards light brown with an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and wood, leading to a dry finish. Thanks to David (Rastacouere). Papsoe (11030), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 19, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Rastacouere. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a yellowish brown head. Sweetish, roasted malt with lovely burned caramel in the nose. Extremely intense and full body with sweetish, burned caramel notes. Some bitterness in the finish. Lovely. 090507 Oakes (7030), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Apr 30, 2006 Burnished dark brown colour. Rich aroma - earthy, toasty, molasses, halva, nuts...and not the cheap version of any of these but the best stuff around. The flavour carries all of these same elements in the same quality, plus a little woodiness. Rich and complex with bright, defined flavours at the apex of their respective spectra, this is a hakapik to my previous concepts of how good a scotch ale can be. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA May 25, 2008 Date: 05/22/2008
harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 17, 2007 Bottle at LCRBM3. Clear chestnut colour with lasting deep beige head. Attractive dry malt aroma, bit of spicy raisin. Thick in mouth. It has a salt and vinegar aroma. It’s ok, a bit intense and thick.
