On tap at the Brouhaha, deep dark brown color, with a thick creamy tan head, light earthy roasty, black malt, chocolate praline nose with a mild bitter chocolate, faint roasted coffee bean note, and a hint of dark molasses in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a roasted, chocolate, black raw malt character with a burnt toast, bitter chocolate flavours, with a flowery hop leafy, resinous accent, with a mild mochaish, black coffee note, leading towards a piney, leafy, hoppy, roasted bitterness finish.

My Bottom Line:
This comfortable pillow of a Stout develops plenty of roasted coffee beans, biscuity cereals and dark chocolate to balance out the plentiful fruity and resinous hops.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A thick layer of foam bobs atop the darkness.
-The body is richer than the average Stout, yet remains very drinkable due in part to the big-bubbled carbonation.
-The fruity character seems to be a result of a combination of yeast esters, American hop varieties and Frontenac malts. And this union is quite harmonious, if I may say so.
-The finish is a just combination of resinous hops’ and roasted malts’ bitterness.
