3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 8, 2008
[1423-20080530] Tap. Not much aroma other than mild beery grains. Clear, dark brown red body with a quick creamy off-white head. Mild grainy malt flavour has a bit of toast notes and a long grainy finish. Medium body is smooth. Mild, repeatable, average.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 24, 2008
A clear brown ale with a thin lacing off white head. Aroma of flour and water paste, with chocolate and mineral notes. In mouth, a good roasted malt with popcorn, cereals. Very interesting but the aroma is off putting. On tap at Brouhaha, May 2008.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jerc (5580) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 4, 2008
2008-05-30. Dark brown body with a small tan head that lacks endurance. Mild aroma, sweet malt, mild nutty notes, dry toasty malt. (6+) Nice amber highlights on the edges catch the light. (3+) Flavour is mild, dry malt with touch of toasty and roasty malt, its you know, brown ale flavoured. Average palate. Straightforward, serviceable example of the style. Not spectacular, its on the mild side but its quaffable which is probably the idea. On Tap, Vices et Versas, Montreal
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5918) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 3, 2008
Objectively speaking:
A thin and rather watery take on the brown ale style drank on draught at Brouhaha.
I like:
It drinks as easily as it can be, but fails to be exciting at that. Competent nutty and caramel allusions. Crystal clean.
I dislike:
Excessively thin. Trace hops.

Appearance: Clear brown ale with light tanned top. Nose Touch of scotch , brown malts with dark bitterness at back. Flavor/Palate : Clear , lighter mid bodied ale. British malts with lighter nutty side. Thinner finish. Not bad , fairly simple drinkable brew.

Enjoyed at the Mondial 2008. Brown with good lacing. Malty. Good carbonation. Bitter finish. Drying finish. Medium mouthfeel. Quaffable.

A little thin on the palate, that’s the only bad/neutral commentary I’ve got to say about this one. And it doesn’t even affect the final result : A great beer. Low "English style" carbonatation, an inviting ruby throughsight, almost perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness.
I tasted almost every beers from this new brewery and I think this might be the best brewery in Quebec, maybe even the best through the entire country.

The pour reveals a clear reddish brown color with a thin offwhite head. Aroma of nuts, vanilla and dark malt. The flavor also has nuts, vanilla and malt, it’s very plesant and easy to drink. The body is light with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation.

(Rating #1275)
