341 ml bottle purchased at Peluso (Montreal) on December 3, 2011, bottle # 1096 out of 1500. Honey orange, medium head. Aromas of citrus acidic and herbs, notes of barley sugar. Taste of malted wheat with lots of citrus acid, notes of honey and herbs, herbal aftertaste slightly bitter. Pretty good saison, but at $8 for a 12 oz, bit over price!

341ml bottle, #1307 - big thanks to doubled77 for the bottle as an extra. Amber with a ruby hue, off white one finger head that fades to a thin layer. Definite odd combination of aromas: wheat, dough, yeast, light tannins and some oak, some funk, and a touch of citrus. Moderate carbonation but with a very fizzy mouthfeel, light body, some citrus and bitterness, lots of chardonnay, becomes a little sweet and slightly dry. A definite interesting beer.

341 ml bottle. Pours an orange amber, filled with loads of sediments. Smells like wood and spices. Tastes like wine or light port wine, fruity, somewhat spicy. Very woody. Slight bitter finish. Humidity seems to linger on. Medium-bodied. Quite good, very well balanced.

Red - light amber colored beer. Lots of co2 at first resulting in a white, fast deminishing head. Yeasty, spicey, herbal aroma. Peppers are noticeable. Some tartness in the beginning, very herbal, spicey. Notes of citrus hops. A strange beer and therefore interesting. I like this one

A veil of white maintains supervision above the minimally hazy golden. Fruity, surprisingly citric, grapey, almost bright nose comprises an unexpected dose of hops and a lot of straight wood flavours. Perhaps a bit rough on the tannins in mouth, but there is plenty of fruity acidity to refresh at the rear. Despite the barrel-aging, the malts are more than noticeable, providing a strong cerealic kick that is fortunately dried out by the tannins. The wine does not feel to be of the highest quality, feeling a bit simple and rough around the edges and this hurts the beer somewhat, making it not too polished. No transcendant elegance, but plenty of fun spots, the citric bite, wood presence, refreshing acidity all having good moment. Expensive at 7$ per small bottle, but unique enough in the Quebec landscape that I would consider buying it again.

(Rating #4109)

Aroma gves an acidulous impression of this amber-coulored brew whose acid notes compete actively with bitter sensations giving it an interesting, somewhat citrusy finish
