COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

[4934-20121114] 341mL bottle. Light tangy pineapple mango yeast hints in the aroma. Clear, pale yellow body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Zesty lemon yeast and light lychee mango in the flavour. Light-medium body. Mostly pleasant to drink. (7/3/7-/3/13) 3.3

Bouteille 341ml.

(Rating #4404)

2012-11-14. Hazy dark yellow, small white head and modest lace. 3+ Modest aroma, lightly grassy hops, modest yeast has an almost weiss like quality to it [I didn’t know it was a wheat beer!]. Flavour is similar, moderate grassy hops, decent amount of bitterness through, grassy wheaty undertones. Average plus palate. Enjoyable, refreshingly quaffable. Bottle purchased June 2012 from Au Coin Duluth, Montreal

After the disappointing number IV in this series back to respectability even though not reaching the heights of the first two. There is a heavy carbonation that is probably too much and a foretaste of wheat. The aftertaste is dominated by a very bitter hoppiness. The two do not quite balance out to make this a great beer but still interesting. A bit higher wheat content may have balanced out the hop bitterness a bit better.

Clear straw coloured with light white head. Flowery hops and fruity aroma. Acidic with active carbonation. Nice and wheaty, well balanced fruity and floral hops. Probably the best Quebec IPA I've had.. I'm just not sure it's an IPA.

My bottle [330ml] shared with garthicus & HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly cloudy golden-orange with an average size frothy white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity along with wheat, a good amount hops and light spices. Flavour of wheat, floral hops and spices. Average to medium bodied. This was my least favourite of the Cuvée Houblonnée series but it’s an O.K. beer.

In short: An acidic wheat beer loaded with flowery and exotic fruits hops. Very good
How: Bottle 341ml. Consumed very fresh a few weeks after the beer release
The look: Clear pale blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is a bouquet of garden flowers over fresh banana bread and fresh exotic fruits. Not an intense nose but certainly an inviting one. Taste has solid malt backbone, lots of wheat with a freshly baked banana cake. The flowery hops and exotic fruits of the aroma are even more present in the mouth. The hopping is surprisingly assertive and the sharp bitterness has also a slight sticky resinous character. The very active carbonation adds to the natural acidity of this very wheaty beer and at the end it is a little too acidic. Don’t get me wrong, I thought this was a very good beer (best À La Fût I’ve ever had) but with smoother more fluffy carbonation and a little less acidity (and therefore easier to drink) this could be an very good thirst quencher. I drank a bunch of these, probably the local beer I drank the most often this summer. I have a full-time job and I work hard to pay for all the beer I drink and trust me when I say my dedication and efficiency are at their maximum when I’m working my way through a six-pack.
