Strongly acidulous aroma, dark golden colour, high carbonation, taste has both sweet, honey-like notes and a distinct acidity. A quite balanced beer, comparing with the typical beer with brettanomyces added.

439/900 (241011)

341ml bottle from Grand Duc Bottle 404/900. 7.99$... better be good. Bottled August 2011.
Appearance : Slightly hazy peach-colored with medium head that doesn’t last long.
Aroma : Nice fruity and horsey bretts. Some oak with light vinous notes. Light cough syrup notes that may come from some cherry-ish notes that the brett may have produced.
Taste : Cough syrup cherries with rubbery brett. Light oak. Palate is quite thin. Finish cough syrup with spices. Belgian yeast notes. Alcohol on finish, rather warm. Feels a bit green and not very cohesive. Finish has a light astringency with cherry notes. Finish gets more and more syrupy. the base beer comes back on the late finish with yeast and spices.
Overall : Humm weird... At first nose has some really nice brett flavours but it quickly turns out candy-ish with the cough syrup cherry notes. Maybe a weird result of the Frontenac malt. The more I drink the less I like it... to the point of thinking about not finishing my glass. Pinot Noir is probably hidden behind the maraschino cherry notes. All in all not very good. Maybe it’s too young. Palate is sticky... meh...

Tasted like Dimetapp (Child medecine) Hated it from start to finish, had to chug an ipa to get that awful taste of my mouth. I don’t get why people like it.

Light hazy copper beer with a thin white head. Nose have bunch of fruits along with light Brettanomyces, wood and homemade tomato ketchup. Taste is sweet with noticeable caramelized malts, chow-chow, flowers and rustic hints. Wood and spices as well on the tastebuds. Body is on the medium side with smooth carbonation and a sticky texture. Finish is sweet with a touch of bretts and perfume. Overall, not bad but definitely not great.

341ml bottle, 7,99$. Wo! 2.8/5, Rastacouère? I thought this lively and fruity tripel could even deserve a whole page in the next edition of your excellent book "Sur la route des grands crus de la bière"! Does all brett beers have to be Orval alike? Kiddings aside, I think that the brett that was added is not too aggressive in the taste, although obvious. It is quite present in the aroma, with sugar, peaches, pears and alchool. The taste is very fruity with, again, peaches, pears, apricots, green apples, and strong notes of alchool, vanilla, and pepper, and wood, and a dry herbal hoppiness. Pretty complex, pleasant and too quickly finished because it is very easy too drink and has no real flaws... 2,8... Does your boy sleep well? Cheers...
