Not sure why A La Fut always charges about a dollar more for a beer than Dieu du Ciel - seems like a gross abuse of ego. Smokey peak aroma that dominates the beer. Pours dark mahogany with little head and lacing. Crisp bitter finish with some residual sourness. Bottle from Marche in Montreal.

Passable porter, black with some lace at the bottom of the glass. Malty, not that roasty. Thanks Josh.

Bottle, shared with my wife. Dark brown, copper highlights, lively tan head that reduces to a heavy pad. Aroma is robust roast with notes of chocolate, figs, and stems. On the palate the chocolate comes forward, but there is still a little figgy sweetness swimming amongst the background roast. Full bodied and satisfying. An excellent porter.

(Rating #4823)

Single from Marché Omni. Pours a real dark brown colour with a little red highlights. Nice creamy-frothy beige head with good retention and sticky thick lacing. Dark fruit aromas (plums, dates) with roasted malt, hints of coffee and very light vanilla. There is something else I cannot pinpoint, but annoys my nose a bit (maybe the hop used). Thankfully, the hop acts better in the taste. Roasted malts, notes of chocolates with the grassy bud. Nice creamy mouthfeel that goes down well. Not sure why this one is that expensive though, as there are better porter for cheaper.
