(Embout. Janv’13) (536-0801213)

Bottle - 341ml. Slightly hazy golden body with a thin white frothy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with melon hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries citrusy and woody notes. Ends with a long, sharp, robust bitter finish. Simple, enjoyable IPA.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a large foamy head with good carbonation and some lacing. Aroma of fruity ester with light citrus and mango notes with lightly sweet malt notes. Taste is also dominated by some lightly sweet malt notes with some mango and fruity ester with limited bitterness. Body is a bit light with good carbonation. Well brewed and I enjoyed the fruity mango notes.

Pours clear golden yellow with a moderate white frothy head. Aroma is citrus and grapefruit hops with some biscuity malt. Taste is a blast of citrus and grapefruit hops, drying out the palate for the biscuit malts.

341 ml bottle from Flaveurs d’ici A: zesty citrusy some tropical fruits. App: clear golden no head. T/p: light body with long bitter finish. Soft carbonation. O: Not impress. I was expecting maybe too much. Haven’t tried the original version side by side but the original would have won for sure. Looks like the hopping schedule is at it’s best when supported by specialty malts afterall. As an hophead this statement is hard to say I got to admit. Anyhow I thank the brewery for this interessting try and will continue to support their efforts in creativity.

341 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear deep golden with a nice white head. Aroma: Tropical fruits, apricots/peaches, pine/resin/dank, dusty sweet caramel malts, grapefruit peel, lemon zest, toasted biscuit. Palate: Medium body, relaxed effervescence. Flav.: Pine/resin, grapefruit peel, stern and assertive hop character, lemon zest, a little caramel, slightly dusty, slight eucalyptus; dry with strong bitterness and a pine/eucalyptus and holy-friggin’-bitter! finish.

A little unbalanced with some interesting hop aromas/flavours.

J’aime mieux l’autre Ruine Papilles.

Is this an improved version or just another way of naming the original? Aroma has again a lot of grapefruit with touch of lemon and herbal notes. We can also find a slight touch of cereal but less than the original. nose is very close to the original but sticking out a bit more. Clear golden / blond with creamy, thick and long lasting head. Lacing is nice too. Attack is showing sharp notes of citrus and green grass. Bitterness is strong and very long lasting. A lot of herbal and grassy notes. Hops are all over the place. To my opinion this beer has a lack of complexity. Same as for it’s little sister ’’La Ruine Papille’’. This is not an improvement. It looks to me that it’s the same beer.

pours clear very light golden with a little white head, littlre retention and lacing. citrus-plenty, fresh green, vegetal-pineyness, few tropical notes, light oxidatation althoug it’s very fresh, faint pale malts. soft carbonation, light body - oily, medium long slightly harsh citric-grapefruit finish - i get that it’s the intention, but balance is slightly missing. linear. meh.

Bouteille 341ml.
