3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fred82 (1824) - Montreal, - APR 25, 2011
341ml bottle from Grand Duc. Bottled April 2011.
Appearance : Clear amber with medium foamy white head. Some lacing.
Aroma : Nice floral and herbal hops. Light honey and caramel.
Taste : Light herbal hops with honey and malt. Big bitterness on the finish with notes of herbal hops. Piny and resinous. A bit spicy too.
Overall : Interesting but a bit too much bitterness for nothing. Aroma is not bad but once you take a sip everything is shadowed by the intense bitterness. Too much bitterness for nothing. These guys just don’t get it...
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blklab2007 (1418) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 3, 2012
Bottle received as a generous extra. Pour has a dark garnet red color with a thick two finger head that fell slowly back to the surface. Aroma has caramel, fruity sweetness, perfume, and damp hops. Mouth feel is light and there is medium low carbonation. Flavor has a malted base, increasing bitterness, perfume, caramel, and a lingering finish. The hops really center around the bitter side and have almost a soapy flavoring at times.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MXD (295) - Gatineau/St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 11, 2012
Pours copper orange. Off-white head, quite thick actually. Aroma is mainly about resin and fruits. Taste is, again, predominantly resin, secondarily grapefruits and thirdly, malts. BItterness is really heavy -- undermalted? Possibly. Good stuff, inspite of a rather simple hop profile.. which ends up being somewhat confusing nonetheless. Like an English IPA that tries to be an American IPA. Not bad, but won’t have this one again, unless somebody’s selling it on tap somewhere. 4$ a bottle is... somewhat expansive.

Belle couleur ambrée. Très amère et peu effervescente. Tout de même satisfaisante.

#1148 bottle; nose is heavy dry, fruity hops, some bile, feel is broad, carb is mediumheavy, taste is bile, dry leaves, fresh mint
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 AlainG (234) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 18, 2011

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 VincentL (156) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 7, 2011

Deep chunky copper and amber coloured body with a thick, soapy, antiquey tan colour - looks like a lot of Quebecois-based IPAs. Aroma of bright cascade hops, caramel, toffee, nuts, earth and a bit english-y. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a nice bright hop bite, some earthy malt behind with a little bit of grapefruit on the tail end. Aftertaste shows a lot of character and complexity with the nuts, earth, metal and bright hops all making a statement. Overall, a very nice IPA - perhaps one of the best I’ve had from the whole of Canada! I sampled this 341 mL bottle purchased from Marche Des Sauvers in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for CA$3.79 on 27-June-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 01-December-2011.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pushkinwow (863) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 18, 2011
341ml bottle. Mahogany with sediment and a fluffy off white head. Pine, fresh but muted citrus hops, grapefruit being the most prevalent aroma, malt is there but does not seem well balanced. Quite nice and fresh, bitter that becomes astringent on the palate as the bitterness grows, average body and carbonation, alcohol is there in the middle, becomes dry and a very hoppy bitterness at the end, almost like you can feel the hops just sitting there. Its an interesting beer - not necessarily well balanced but some interesting flavours throughout.

Tap at Saint Bock. Amber pour with a tight white head. The aroma is awesome. Lots of juicy fruit and tropical mango character. A little bit of fairly bright hoppiness. Grapefruit and orange in addition to some very heavy hoppiness. Bitter and resinous on the finish with a lot of bright fruity character up front. A pretty damn nice IPA.
