Nutty, dry and herbal aroma, slightly burnt caramel malt. Tasted quite thin, like burnt table syrup and dried straw. Thin, slick and still on the palate, once again a little carbonized in the finish - yet another in the "meh" category. garthicus (1354), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 6, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Fruity vanilla and lightly caramelized cereals form a silky, lean Scotch Ale which strays from the usual sweet examples of the style.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the clear copper red.
-The nose is rather sober for a Scotch Ale. A few more caramel dextrins wouldn’t hurt.
-The body is elegant, but not as nourishing as my favorite examples of the style.
-The Frontenac malt signature is spicy and a little green in this one.
-Alcohol is well concealed.
-Whispering hop bitterness concludes each sip.
