Bouteille 341 mL. Brune foncée, peu/pas de mousse. Nez de malt caramélisé sans exubérance. Bouche de caramel et de cassonade. On ne ressent pas l’alcool. Très bon mais un peu cher...

En fût. Verre de 12 oz dégusté directement à la brasserie. Arôme: Odeur de caramel avec une pointe de céréales. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée foncée. Présence d’un moyen col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de caramel avec une pointe de noix et de céréales. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement huileuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #3772)

fruity, sweet caramel malts, with some ripe figs. Flavor is sweet, but not cloying. a nice scotch.

Good beer, but the taste and aroma are’nt enough there to appreciate them. slick feel, minimal head, brown, toast,

341 ml bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a thin, quickly dissolved beige head. Smells of caramel, toffee and heated sugar. Tastes of brown sugar, caramel and chocolate, with a light hoppy bitter finish. Caramel taste remains for a few moments. Body is quite thin, carbonation is very weak, almost imperceptible. Not the best scotch ale, but it was very tasty.

Cruchon 1,9L. De couleur brune-rouge très foncée et claire. Nez de caramel sucré et de grains de malt moyennement rôti , moyennement fruité (moyen de figues, léger de prunes), léger de noix et de houblon herbeux avec des notes de biscuits et des traces de chocolat. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture légèrement huileuse et aux notes sirupeuses. Gout fruité (moyen de figues, léger de raisins rouges, notes de prunes) accompagné de traces épicées (poivre très doux) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût de grains de malt moyennement rotis et de caramel toffee ainsi que des traces de chocolat, de biscuits et de pain. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve de très faibles notes d’alcool jusqu’en finale ou l’on retrouve une moyenne-légère amertume de houblon herbeux et des notes de noix. Post-gout moyen, moyennement amer de rôti, léger de houblon herbeux avec un léger goût fruité (notes de moût de raisins et de pelures de prunes) et des traces de noix.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2012 My Bottom Line:
Fruity vanilla and caramelized cereals form a chewy Scotch Ale with obvious Québécois malt green huskiness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the clear copper red.
-The nose is rather fruity and sweet; not bad, but could more refined.
-The body is nourishing, as expected.
-The Frontenac malt signature is spicy and a little green in this one. It doesn’t overwhelm the beer, which is nice.
-Alcohol is well concealed.
-Whispering hop bitterness concludes each sip.

Bottled, and on tap at the Mondial de la Bière.

Pours a clear brown color with a thin beige head. Aroma of caramel and candy. Flavor of caramel and candy. The body is medium with a vinous texture and gentle carbonation.

Appearance: Ruby red, medium red head. Aroma: Nutty, malt, toasty with some grain and caramel. Flavour: Vanilla, malt, some mild hops with a lightly bitter finish.

Rather average scotch ale. Some caramel flavour and malty with some alcoholic heaviness. Not bad but nothing out of the ordinary either. Expect a bit better from A La Fut especially given the high price they charge for their beers, worth it for a few of them but not for this one.
