COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Black pour with brown highlights and a ring of light brown lace. Aroma and flavor of roasted malt with a dry and bitter finish.

(Rating #1276)

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2008 My Bottom Line:
This Stout surprises with its nut-laced coffee tones and oatmeal sweetness which precede a dry and bitter roastiness. Some leafy hops accompany the roasted malts in this finish which lingers courageously.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the brown-sleeved black gown.
-The fact that it is not served with nitrogen carbonation allows us to perceive many more flavors than usual. Another gutsy move from this new brewpub.
-Chocolatey maltiness is polite, tagging along molasses-like sweetness.br> -The body is healthy and not excessively carbonated, making this a very drinkable and nourishing pint.
-The finish is quite roasty, earthy and bitter.
-This is nothing special, but it’s solid and very drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub and at Vices et Versa.
