3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - FEB 1, 2010
Mondiale 08. Pours a yellow hazy gold with a med white head. Aroma is crackery dough, light wheat malt some lemon hints, grassy cracker and dusty. Falvor is sweet syrupy malts, wheat dough, very old stale malt dust- like at the bottom of a bag of barleymalt, phenolic, grassy and lemongrass and hints of yarrow- a bit soapy in the finish.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 7, 2008
A hazy blonde ale with a thin white head. A nice fruity aroma cloves, and bananas, with light citrus. In mouth, a sweetish malt, light boiled corn, a bit off putting, but overall nice. Tasted at Mondiale 2008, June 1 2008.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5918) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 3, 2008
Objectively speaking:
Unfiltered, thicker than usual witbier brewed with gentiana roots in replacement of hops.
I like:
Healthy and vigorous mouthfeel. No overwhelming spice impression. Limited sweetness leaves all the room to showcase the fresh wheat bill. Refreshing.
I dislike:
Fine experiment I found.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 30, 2008
My Bottom Line:
This hopless Witbier showcases straightforward wheat and timid tropical fruit esters atop a dry and lightly earthy, herbal finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the cloudy blond.
-The authentic aroma on this one makes you believe in their idea that a Witbier’s hops aren’t that important after all, but the finish sure suffers from this perhaps involuntary absence.
-Milky allusions protrude from the yeasty, spicy nose (coriander?).
-The body is quite healthy and the carbonation very apt, making for an efficient Witbier mouthfeel.
On tap at the Mondial.
