(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Rastacouere. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a yellowish brown head. Sweetish, roasted malt with lovely burned caramel in the nose. Extremely intense and full body with sweetish, burned caramel notes. Some bitterness in the finish. Lovely. 090507

Big thanks to beerbuzzmontreal for sending this to me. The aroma is of wort, brown sugar, light hops, and mollasses. Deep brown body with red hues and a nice thick brown head. Ful and extrememly creamy mouthfeel. Lots of toffee, caramel, and gentle hop flavors. Very complex taste. A nice roasted flavor comes through as it warms a bit. This one is to be savored.

Strong scotch ale. This has a brown appearance and a thin palate. Nice flavors of both chocolate and coffee. Strong chocolate aroma.

From a 12oz Bottle. Pours a transparent coppery mahogany color with a thin layer of creamy beige head. Great raisiny nose with some deep caramelized sugars and edgings of molasses. Full bodied, softly carbonated body thats soft, chewy, and heavy without being overly cloying or sticky. Semi-sweet peaty malt flavors with loads of toffee and caramelized malt sugars. Dry, refined finish, maintaining those great sweetly smokey malt characters without getting sticky. Thanks, Mike!

Mike opened this after the PP fest: Ruby brown hued with a small lasting head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of biscuity, bready and caramel malts, oxidation, salt, heather, dates, raisin and flash of juniper berry. The taste is smooth and sweet with notes of salt and peat. A bit of toffee, ripe fruit, and candi sugar as well. The mouth feel is soft and oily but had an aggressive outside edge. Good beer but not as much depth as I would have liked to see. Fun rating a Scotch Ale and not knowing what style it is then finding out you were mostly spot on with your assessment.

Pour from a 500mL bottle. Deep french salted caramels, with gentle cold-aged yeast esters and a mouthful of sea-salty oats and sweet grain sugars. Nice cherry brown pour, with tannic-tinged head. Rich deep cream malt, of unparalled intensity. Alcohol shows as wanted warmth and assistance. Characters well-rounded, beautifully blended and nicely melded. Nothing particularly individualistic, save for stunning all-around quality and finish. Thanks Mike!
