bottle, 500 ml. Clear and dark red caramel color, light brown head that fade almost immediately, very soft carbonation. Incredible nose of: rasberry, apple gely, Straberry juce, molasse, earth, grass, honey and seaweed. The great sweetness is well balance by a soft acidity(apple).The burst of flavor led by the fruit gently diminish to leave only a coffee bitterness and a soft cereal finish. Un grand cru...(luckily, I have 5 more in my cellar)

Bottle, picked up from La Trappe à Fromage on the Hull side just a short drive out of Ottawa. Aside from my expectations of a scotch ale’s aroma, my nose detects figs and raisins. Love how this coats my mouth, no one flavour overwhelms the next, good balance. Lasting flavour varying from bittersweet chocolate, malt, honey. Finish is dry. I think I really like this one

Une découverte. Arôme de malt enveloppant, de grains fraîchement moulus et présence d’une arôme d’alcool subtile. Houblonnée sans exagération, très bien balancée, de loin une des meilleures bière que j’ai goûté. Elle s’apparente à une belge forte. Dépasse mes attentes. Une bière excellente made in Quebec!

Strong scotch ale. This has a brown appearance and a thin palate. Nice flavors of both chocolate and coffee. Strong chocolate aroma.

Caramel Malty and sweet aroma. Dark brown with very little head that quickly dissipates upon pouring into the glass. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, and sour all in one. The body is light to medium, with soft carbonation and a thin and sticky texture. Overall the beer is good for the most part, and for me someone who is not a big fan of Scotch Ales this was a big step up for me. A nice new beer that I just randomly beer, though not worth the money that I payed for it.

Bière brune. Arôme complexe et très puissante. Rubis en verre avec un collet ocre qui se dissipe sans attendre. Doit se faire apprivoiser : la première gorgée ne reflète pas bien le plaisir qui suivra. Prix trop élevé néanmoins, 6.79$ en 330 cl. Conséquence fâcheuse de la mode des bières onéreuses.

The smell is nice it smell a little like smoke. The taste is like rubber I dont know if the bottle is infected but I should try it an other time to know if this is really the taste of this beer.

Bouteille brune, 341ml, embouteillée 15 mois auparavant. Arômes complexes, mais très équilibrés de caramel, sucre d’orge, mélasse et fruits (fraises cuites). Liquide bourgogne présentant un moyen col de mousse crémeuse qui disparaît lentement. En bouche, je remarque rapidement des petites notes de tabac. C’est principalement sucré , mais pas trop pour le style. Je remarque des saveurs de mélasse/chocolat et du fruité (fraises cuites comme dans tarte aux fraises). On goûte peu l’alcool (9%), mais celui-ci est quand même réconfortant. Il y a également une légère amertume de levure en arrière-goût. Le corps est moyen et il y a peu d’effervescence. Bière idéale lors d’une soirée froide d’hiver. Se boit très facilement ! Très bien fait, mais très dispendieuse (8$ la bouteille !)

Tiens, la soeur et le beauf viennent souper ce soir. Histoire de le faire sentir cheap pour la prochaine fois; je lui sert cette luxuriante et saline scotch ale. Au plaisir de me faire recevoir!

Dark ruby with a small tan head. Flavors of small berries, toffee, with some alcool showing up, but in a good way. Almost creamy texture, with no carbonation (or very little). Long and persistent finish. Great scotch ale that lives up to the expectations we had!
