Really nice well-made lager! Medium gold, clear, and small settling head. Faint sweet aroma with some quality barley malt crispness. Taste begins a bit honey-malt to start then changes to some floral, slight lemon, ends in lightly bitter and distinct, lingering salty. Goes beautifully with the 3-cheese pita toast I make.

Bottle. From L’épicerie des Halles/la Grande Réserve.
Pours blond/golden, with a nice whitehead.
Malt (cereal, hay) and Hops (floral) are both present in the aroma - though the guy with me detected some skunkyness, I didn’t. Mildly bitter. That one had a salty taste... Yep. Extremely expansive for what it is - and the "extra salt" isn’t worth it IMO. Still, a pretty good brew, and one that I’m happy to encourage -- as the Iles are IMO the most beautiful region in Eastern Canada/Quebec/Ontario.

Bottle. Pours a bright clear golden with a lacy white head. Aroma of clean grains and hints of fresh pineapple. Flavour is all clean grains, slightly sweet, with a low grassy hop note in the finish. A clean, well made lager.

12 oz bottle. Bottled on Nov 2009, so Im surprised this still smells fresh and hoppy. Pours a beautiful deep bright golden with a nice fluffy head- lasting and some sticky lace- seems like nice lively carbonation. Aroma is doughy nice pils malt, bread, light cracker and slight grass mixed with just a slight hint of corn but good herbal fresh hops- aroma seems not too far off of a sunshine pils from troegs that I have been drinking lately. Flavor is pretty good- ok pils malt upfront with doughy bread and good hops upfront then it kinda falls off a bit thin with some crackery pale malt, light acetaldehyde apple in the back of the mouth, and hints of corn- flattens out a bit more when you get halfway through the glass and turns a hint more cidery with a more limp body than the first few sips- hops fade a bit and turn slight grassy metallic with a thin cider tang on the end. Finish is thin and a bit lame and seems a bit dead in the mouthfeel despite what appears to be large carbonation really doesnt fizz up at all in the mouth? Strange beer that starts off like it might be great but finishes off a bit disappointing.

Non sans rappeler les lagers commerciales, l’Écume réussit tant bien que mal à conserver une trace de son héritage. Heureusement. Loin de pouvoir compétitionner avec les autres produits de À l’Abri de la Tempête.

Bottle. Purchased accidentally when wanting to buy corne de brume. I can’t say this is bad beer, very crisp light cookie aroma and taste. Just enough malt sweetness to make it quite refreshing. Its major downside is its price which is just phenomenal for what it is.

Thanks to M. Alain at the Montreal Bonisoir shop for pointing this out to me. Clean pale yellow; thick frothy head. Light slightly salty aroma. Quite the thirst quenching flavor. Very crisp, very tasty. Lightly hopped but very effective. Slightly salty. Imagine if this could be people’s every day beer of choice instead of Bud Light. Then I could stop making fun of them.

341ml bottle 2008/11. Pours clear yellow with a medium head. Short retention. Leaves lacing. Nose is grain, malt and cookies. Taste is mild bitterness, rather dry finish. Malt and grain. Very refreshing. A bit citrusy. Nothing really special but good enough. Maybe a little pricey for what it is (3.29$CAN).
