COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
À l’abri de la Tempête has drawn on the soil madelinot to concoct a beer with sweet floral accents. Delicately scented with a series of wild herbs gathered on the archipelago, La Belle Saison charm with its warm notes of citrus and flowers accompanied by a refreshing bitterness. A mouthful of sunshine!

341 ml bottle. Pours a slightly veiled straw with a nice white head. Smells like grains and orange. Taste is citrus (orange, mostly), some pear and a hint of herbs. Light herbal/floral bitterness. Some spices in there. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Good, simple beer. A bit pricey, though...

Bottle that I took to a small tasting with Max, Paul, and Andy. Pours a clear light yellow gold with a thin white head. Herbal and minty, soft musk on the nose. Medium bodied, herbal and slightly lemony. Finishes with a touch of crisp grain and a bit more herbal notes.

pours a bright golden with a decent white head, some retention and lacing. cereals, malt structure is ok. again that saltiness in the malt. blends very well with the complex herbal, floral bouquet - not coming from the hops. hops per say are light - mainly citrusy, lemon tartness. hint of sweetness, never cloying. soft to average carbonation, light body yet a silky feeling. refreshing and good. just way too expensive.

Clear pale yellow in color with almost no head. Lemony breezes, mild spices, mostly ginger, beach grasses and starflowers seem to be swept by the ever-present winds of the archipelago. Taste is also quiet, certainly fresh and herbal, pure maritime air flavors, mostely like others offerings from this brewer. Body is on the light side with average carbonation and kind of watery texture. Finishes with delicate kisses from flowers and hops.

Pleasant and unique saison, new at St. Hubert trip. Very floral, with ginger being the only significant outstanding scent. Pours light yellow with a small lasting white head, and leaving lace dots throughout the glass. . Average mouthfeel, carbonation right there. Decent drinker and refreshing. The taste was mainly ginger, with other herbs including chamomile, and cardamom, pepper.

In short: A blonde ale full of flowers. Original thirst quencher.
How: Tap at Chambly beer Fest 2010.
The look: Partly cloudy yellow-blonde body topped by a very small white head
In long: Nose is full of flowers, the type of scented flowers I would offer my girlfriend if I was a romantic gentlemen. Burp, fart, scratch balls. Not gonna happen. Taste is like a pressed dandelions juice with cooking green herb. Oily mouthfeel with a smooth carbonation. This is a fun different beer but I don’t think I could really session this. Not because of the intensity (it is a soft beer) but because I feel that its fun unconventional taste would grow old after a few pints. Don’t let the word “Saison” fool you, this beer is not a Saison. Saison is a french word that was borrowed from us by the brewing industry using the usual tactic of “sorry, I forgot my vocabulary home, can I borrow your Saison word until tomorrow?”. We’re still waiting.

Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle. Crystal clear pale golden with a thin white head with below average retention. Aroma is very herbal and floral with some pale malt, honey and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is also herbal and floral with sweet malt and a dry finish. Pretty mineral. Fizzy carbonation with a thin to medium body. Not overly complex but a nice very drinkable beer with fresh herbs aroma.
