À l’abri de la Tempête has drawn on the soil madelinot to concoct a beer with sweet floral accents. Delicately scented with a series of wild herbs gathered on the archipelago, La Belle Saison charm with its warm notes of citrus and flowers accompanied by a refreshing bitterness. A mouthful of sunshine!

Pours a weak clear yellow with no head and no lacing. Aroma is faint herbs and floral grains. Taste is crisp, clean, floral and herbal. But lacking that dry bitterness. A little too delicate for me.

Piss (sorry but that’s the closest I can think of) colored brew topped by a fluffy white head, like soap bubbles really. Aroma is peppery, grassy, not bad at all. Taste has a lightly sour component and is bone dry. Flavors are herbal with pepper and/or other spices peeking through. Mouthfeel is light, with a good fizz. Overall a refreshing brew albeit not a complex one.

Une saison florale et végétale. Une blonde avec une notes d’herbes. Plutôt douce avec une petite amertume. Prix bc trop élevé.

Clear pale yellow color with a medium white head, Aroma of lemon, herbs and flowers. Flavor of lemon, herbs and flowers. The body is light with an oily texture and moderate carbonation.

341 ml bottle from La Barik. Pours a nearly clear, bright pale yellow with small white cap. Aroma is perfumey flowers and spices. Flavour is also floral with some light citrus and spicing that to my mind recalls rosemary and a touc of pepper. Light crisp finish. Interesting and refreshing.

Bottle (341 ml). Clear and pale yellow/golden with a small white head and almost no lacing. Aroma is of floral/herbal notes along with salty notes and slight citrus. Taste is slight sweet and about the same as aroma... pretty floral. Light to medium body. Low carbonation. Easily forgotten.

Bottle, shared with my wife. Golden body of medium depth, average white head. Aroma is strikingly nutmeg, or fresh ground mace. In a blind sniff test, I’d guess this to be a pumpkin beer with complete confidence. On the palate, nutmeg spice is still there, but is combined with sweet pear, light honey, and delicate floral highlights. Very interesting, but not a Saison at all.

Bottle. Very, very pale yellow pour with a thin film of white foam. Aroma is very weird at first, something meaty and smoky like bacon or breakfast sausage. After some getting used to, it turns more into light lemony aromas with lots of flowers - chamomille and the like. Taste is very light, lagery, some herbal notes, pepper. Palate is thin. Lacks body.

341 ml bottle bought at Peluso (Montreal) on May 26, 2011. Crystal blonde, thin head. Aroma of malted rye and herbs, very floral. Slightly salty and dry taste of herbs, not that malty at all, almost no bitter aftertaste. Not bad but I wish there was more taste to it!

Cinnamon and nutmeg herbal aroma. Slightly fruity and spicy. Effervescent and refreshing. Delicate and thirst quenching. Decent saison, some of the herbs used seem unnecessary.
