A dark stout with a thin moka head. In aroma, butterscotch and chocolate, light coffe notes. In mouth, a thin stout, with light coffee notes, very light bodied. On tap at Fête Bieres et Saveurs, Sept. 4 2009.

On tap at fête Bière et Saveurs. Pours deep black with a huge head, very creamy and dense. Nose is faint. Taste is faint roasted malt. Palate is really creamy. Not bad overall but far too discrete. Drinkable, refreshing but no complexity.

On tap at the Brouhaha, pitch black color, with a creamy beige head, black chocolate, roasted malt nose, with some coffee bean, dark coffee, multi-grain bready dough accents, with a hint of vanilla, mochaish in the aroma follows through a light-bodied palate with a mild mochaish, roasted, dark malt character, with a faint espresso accent, and a light flowery hop grassiness, leading towards a balck coffee, roasty, hop leafy bitterness finish.

My Bottom Line:
This anemic Stout sends timid vanilla and roastiness alongside earthy hops for a drinkable but inherently lackluster example of the style.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam decorates the darkest brown, drawing some lacing.
-Malt character is really not developed enough for my preferences in the style.
-The finish is hoppy, but a tad vegetal as well.
-I find the dextrins too meager for the style.

On tap at Vices et Versa.
