Sample at the Picaroons Brewers Bash. To me it felt like an attempt to make something like a IPA without being an IPA. Had some pine and floral elements that seemed somehow different from the way they usually are with hops. Thickish caramel malt. Overall, it felt like almost like a folk medicine IPA, which was interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

wasn’t at all to my liking. Pours an opaque amber with thin head and noticeable unfiltered solids. Notes of yeast, berries, wheat, hardwood and wild flowers. Very bitter (in a bad way) and overly sweet at the same time; just over the line in my opinion on all fronts. Might be for some, but not for me. I wouldn’t buy it again.

I did not get any IPA character from this beer. A slightly hazy gold with a thin foamy head. The aroma was grain and some perfumey hints. The flavour was weakly hoppy, certainly not IPA hoppy.

On cask at Benelux. No head and lots of lacing. Some sweet, almost maple syrup and some light spice in the background, some earthy hops. Medium bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle, at home, drinking it as I’m writing. Golden-red color, small head. Aroma, light citrus, very herbal/floral. Taste is a mix pine spices, very smooth. Finish is a bit abrupt. What is this, an IPA, can’t be, an APA? In a way it is one of a kind PA. With Corne de Brume from À l’abri de la Tempête, another very good beer.

Bottle 341ml. Pours sligthly hazy golden with medium white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is of pine, citrus, malt, fruits, flowers. Taste is of spices, flowers, bitterness, malt, sweetness. Palate: light-medium body. Overall: Bitter finish. Very good. For me, it’s an IPA. I don’t get the low ratings on that one. Bottle inconsistency? I won’t mind making sure of that...
