COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Clear blond coloured beer with some very light carbonatoin and a short white head. Hoppy and fruity, little malty complete aroma. Some slight herby hints (mustardseeds?) Full palate. Finish is herby with some malthy hints. Nicely balanced.

Pale amber pour with a tight white head. The aroma is really interesting. Floral and a little bit spicy. There is a touch of almost mintiness. Peppery with a kiss of interesting yeastiness. It’s not all that hoppy, but it’s unlike anything vie had and it’s quite good. A little bit of soft pine needle-like fruitiness. Really tasty.

Pours clear golden. Small whitehead, average retention, good and long-lasting lace. Aroma is interesting -- certainly floral, with hints of pale fruits. Rather spicy -- sage, rosemary and ginger. Terrific aroma for sure. Taste is floral hops-driven, but the mal backbone is pretty good. The spice -- which the aroma hinted at -- is still there, but not as gingery as aroma suggested. Mainly about sage and rosemary, actually. If anything, the malt, whilte being good, is somewhat generic. Great, but still generic, with no speacial features whatosever. Oily mouthfeel. Finale is long, but extremely smooth, and "fades", as opposed to "stops". Just the perfect level of bitterness, and quite spicy as well. That’s a beer I disliked at first. A few years later... Terrific! I kinda developed my tastes for bitter beers, which might explain. This said, this one is hard to categorize; close to EPA category, but it’s actually a bit pale and a little too spicy for a pure EPA. And it’s not like we’re in purely "spice beer" territory either.

pours clear golden with a decent white head. unusual aroma, fruity tartness, brettanomyces, salt. taste is salty malt - don’t know if it’s part of the marketing (island...). medium body, average carbonation. unusual but interestingly good...

Purchase at La Trappe À Fromage in Gatineau, in the single bottles section. Wow ! Huge sweet tart smell from the get-go. Pours a golden-amber colour with a big creamy white head, beautiful consistent carbonation and great lacing after slowly going down. As the sweet aromas disappear, some pine needle scent appears from the hop. I still cannot believe the Halloween candy nose that this one gives when the glass is swirled. Oh well. It seems I can taste the candy in the back, but overall, pretty light bitterness from the hop, with notes of pepper and ginger. I would have to say that this one is the weirdest IPA I have ever tasted. Still, not too bad (just different).

Bottle. Slightly hazy peach color with a thin white head with good retention and beautiful lacing. Aroma is medicinal herbs, banana bread, sweet crystal malt and nuts. Flavor is sweet malt, sugar, caramel, banana bread, spices, floral andherbal hops and a bitter finish. Medium body with. Very herbal, biscuity and fruity, quite different from your everyday English pale ale.

341 ml bottle. pours almost golden brown, with little head and a sight lace. it’s perfumed, caramel, almonds and a hint of sweet alcohol. tastes are somewhat similar in terms of florality, some hops but not much else. Finishes hot and boozy. I find it is missing in body and overall character. it is missing much of a mid-palate. it is an interesting brew but not exiting.

Draft at Churchkey. Bright golden color. Aroma of heather and grass. Taste is bitter, dry, with some spice. Not bad.
