Wow, what a surprisingly good lager. Absolutely the best Eastern European lagers I’ve ever tasted. Well filled malt flavor with a subtle and crispy aftertaste. 1 pint of pleasure.

56.8cl can. Pours clear pale yellow with a small, white head. Lightly malty aroma with some fruity notes and cooked vegetables. Moderate sweet without much flavour or bitterness. Thin and watery, but drinkable.

From the archives: I have been drinking Alexander for 7 years when I was in Tartu. Lightly hoppy pale lager, with a decent carbonation. Does not look much, does not hold its head, but when extra cold, and drank from the bottle on a hot summer day... You get the point - drinkable pale lager. From recent years - quality fluctuates from batch to batch. Was a descent, stable taste before. When on sale - stay away from it.

Bottle. Pours golden with white head that disappears quickly. Both aroma and taste are a mixture of grassy hops and malt sweetness. Medium carbonation, quite watery body, but maybe a little thicker than most pale lagers. Decent enough for style, but nothing too spectacular either.

While it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not, this PL is a noticeable upgrade from most of its Estonian competition; cleaner taste, no detectable adjuncts, nice orange-y finish following up on some hop bitterness. The most easily sessionable EST brew I’ve seen.

24/IX/2012 - 1Pt. bottle @ Tom’s place - BB: 24/V/13 (2012-1082) Thanks to Tom for sharing the bottle!

Clear pale yellow beer, creamy white head, unstable, adhesive. Aroma: bit dusty, hops, some citrus, grains, bit sweet. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: pretty fruity, bit hoppy, little sweet, grains, somewhat grassy. Aftertaste: little bitter, sweet malts, bit sugary.

50 cl, canned. Pours clear gold with a decent white head. Aroma: Pale malt, vanilla. Grass. Taste: Balanced medium sweetness, mild bitterness. Palate: Lightly bodied, quite thin. Noticeable, bit stingy carbonation. Refreshing nonetheless. Decent pale lager.

Aroma: The smell is slightly malty, corn, butter, hints of alcohol-
Appearance: The colour is pale yellow; the head is white and airy, some lacing. No curtains.
Taste: Tasting sweet white bread, corn flakes, some watery lemonade.
Palate: The carbonation is medium strong, watery and thin.
Overall: A very low profile canoe beer.
Note: Can 500 ml, thx to JA. Reviewed 2012-08-28.

(Bottle). Vague aroma of malt and some grassy hops. The flavor is thin with a touch of light grainy malt and hops. Drinkable but very boring!
