4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Psytron (875) - Turku, FINLAND - MAY 8, 2011
Citric aroma. Very light colour. Well balanced taste. Pleaseant palate, alcohol content doesn’t ruin this. I’m no fan of strong pale beer but this one did qualify.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Nekronos (3183) - Xalapa, MEXICO - MAY 14, 2012
Very nice. Not really like a standar Bock but fine commercial one. Quite strong but not tiring with nice head and aroma.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kschep (1494) - DENMARK - JUN 10, 2010
strong flavours of malt, rotten fruit and a nutty end, this is one of the better double bocks I’ve yet come across.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20 ectuohy27 (379) - ESTONIA - JAN 24, 2013
Rated on the hedonism scale here--this is a light, airy, fruity beer that hides its ABV exceedingly well. Not remotely like the brutal over-the-head burn of a Slavic strong lager, and welcome for it. Not much else going on--a bit of bitterness on the finish, and a grapefruit-y taste throughout.

Pours a clear pale yellow with a tiny white head. Sweet and malty. HInt of alcohol and almonds. Medium dry. Medium to high fizzy carbonation. Dry finish with a hint of alcohol.

7.0% ABV 500 ml bottle. Pale straw coloured pour with a thin white head. The aroma is fairly light with no really obvious sweet character nor the nasty sort of phenolics that I would typically associate with these. A little bit of apple flavour along with a touch of moderate sweetness. Pretty light and smooth with a little bit more punch than is typical, but it’s not the malt liquor craptasticness I was expecting. Decent actually.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KnutAlbert (5186) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 28, 2008
Bottle as Stiprais Walter.
Rather soft and fruity, almost like a Bohemina pils. The strength shows in an edge and a warming finish. Very decent for a strong lager.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 22, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 8, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) From German "Double Bocks" I’m used to the type being a strong, dark, malty lager. But this Estonian variety is only dark golden - at the most. But the alcohol is definitely there. On the other hand the head has gone missing - completely. Not that different from Danish Strong lagers as for instance "Elephant Beer". Sweetish and very potent without the strong alcohol making it exactly cloying. But not an exciting beer. 201003

Golden. Fairly malty and nutty. Not as bad as Carlsberg Elephant.

Sourish and sweet.
