Commercial Description:
Traditional strong light beer Alcohol content: 8.0% Package: 0.5 l glass bottle The bock-type beer has been brewed for centuries in Europe. The light Double Bock is the first of its kind in Estonia. It has a pleasantly mellow taste for its alcohol content that makes Double Bock a powerful but cool beer. The recipe and taste distinctions of Double Bock have been developed taking into account the current taste preferences of Estonian consumers.

Pours a clear pale yellow with a tiny white head. Sweet and malty. HInt of alcohol and almonds. Medium dry. Medium to high fizzy carbonation. Dry finish with a hint of alcohol.

Bottle as Stiprais Walter. Rather soft and fruity, almost like a Bohemina pils. The strength shows in an edge and a warming finish. Very decent for a strong lager.

Bottled. Golden. Fairly malty and nutty. Not as bad as Carlsberg Elephant.

(Bottle 50 cl) From German "Double Bocks" I’m used to the type being a strong, dark, malty lager. But this Estonian variety is only dark golden - at the most. But the alcohol is definitely there. On the other hand the head has gone missing - completely. Not that different from Danish Strong lagers as for instance "Elephant Beer". Sweetish and very potent without the strong alcohol making it exactly cloying. But not an exciting beer. 201003

A very light, sourish, very yeasty and rather fresh one. Sourish and sweet.
