0,5l bottle. Pale yellow color. No head. Watery, cardboard aroma. No hops in this beer only water. Sour water. Cheap beer.

Another incredibly bad Estonian lager. Weak straw flavors, smell of cooked vegetables and no hops present until you start swallowing, which after the first couple of times your throat doesn’t want to go along with anymore. I wanted to find good Estonian beers, as I grew very fond of this little country, but this didn’t help.

Tastes totally like a basic bulky pale lager. Cardboardy, corny sweet and harsh malty aroma and flavor. Thin palate and heavy carbonation. Maybe a tad more hops than on normal A. Le Coq but wouldn’t call it yet a pilsner.

Sampled from two 500ml bottles, Walter Ölu Hele and A Le Coq Pilsner, both provided by Gaute. Same aromas and flavours. Straw coloured body. Low, white head. Spotty lacing. Not much for the nose, grass and pale malts can be detected. Similar flavours, notes of cardboard. Mid-dry and soft. Anonymous (Tromsø 06.11.2013)

2 0,5L bottles, A Le Coq Pilsner and Walter Hele Olu, from Pärnu EE. White head, pale body, and scents of grass, some sour grass. Tastes mild hops, mild malts, and grassy. Mild and a bit watery. Ends with bread, cardboard, anonymous. Pale silent pal. Agrees with Ratebeer that those 2 beers are the same. Though, maybe not pilsener, but pale lager. MidWeekRateMeetWithRune 2013-nov-6.

Pale golden color , thin white head. Aroma of malt and hay . Taste is malty with hint of bitterness. Nothing in common with pilsener. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Walter Hele Õlu 500 ml bottle. Aroma has some hints of malt. Taste is watery, no aftertaste. At least it’s easy to drink. I don’t know why A. Le Coq calls this pilsner?

Faint aroma has grassy hops and also something plasticlike. Taste has suprisingly nice caramel-malts, but not much hopflavor or bitterness.

This beer is exceptionally good this spring/summer. It had its lows, but the last batch, that is available in shops around May ’13 is really good. Hoppy, medium bodied, has a beautiful color and nice frothy head. Really easy beer. I would say it is the best one in Estonia in it’s group. Price/quality is reasonably good with this one. I understand, that you can get much nicer pilsener from, say, Mikkeller, but it will be approximately 8 times more expensive.
