2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A below standard Pilsener but not too bad. Misses some peril to show a more dry and hopped side.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
The pilsner looks just like a pilsner. Golden yellow, little foam, very clear. It looks nice though. The smell is nice. There is a nice alcohol sweetness and a hoppy sour bitterness. Very nice. The taste is just pilsener. Hoppy and madly. The sweetness, sourness and bitterness are in good balance. This is just a very good pilsener. The first few Estonian pilsners are not bad.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap. I certainly wouldn’t call this a pilsener. Smells like a lager, tastes like one too. Not too bad, not too good. Something to drink while grilling or watching football I guess.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Another incredibly bad Estonian lager. Weak straw flavors, smell of cooked vegetables and no hops present until you start swallowing, which after the first couple of times your throat doesn’t want to go along with anymore. I wanted to find good Estonian beers, as I grew very fond of this little country, but this didn’t help.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Tastes totally like a basic bulky pale lager. Cardboardy, corny sweet and harsh malty aroma and flavor. Thin palate and heavy carbonation. Maybe a tad more hops than on normal A. Le Coq but wouldn’t call it yet a pilsner.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Sampled from two 500ml bottles, Walter Ölu Hele and A Le Coq Pilsner, both provided by Gaute. Same aromas and flavours. Straw coloured body. Low, white head. Spotty lacing. Not much for the nose, grass and pale malts can be detected. Similar flavours, notes of cardboard. Mid-dry and soft. Anonymous (Tromsø 06.11.2013)
