COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A.Le Coq Porter is a strong dark beer that can rightfully be considered to be the successor of the world-famous "Imperial Extra Double Stout." Its mature character and perfect taste are derived from sparkling spring water and extra dark caramel-malt.

Bottle: Dark amber coloured, creamy off-white head; sugary, malty nose with a touch of hops in the background and shy dried fruits; robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium-bodied, spicy resinous hops in the sweet and fruity finish. A decent, well crafted brew......

(bottle) Clear, dark chestnut-colour with a fluffy tanned foamy head. Sugary sweet and slightly roasted malt aroma with liquorice, dried fruits and a light herbal hoppy background. Light-bitter flavour, quite slim bodied for its 6.5% abv. Toast-malty taste with light notes of chocolate and dried fruits; rather dry, moderately bitter and a bit slim finish with a touch of liquorice and herbal hops. Not very complex but likeable brew with attributes of a Schwarzbier.

The head is small and quickly diminishing. This beer is rather bitter, and lacks according to my tastebuds totally porter quality. It’s thin like a lager or maybe partially a schwarztbier. As it grows warmer I find a hint og caramel and chocolate in the finish.

Slightly too thin for my taste. Left with watery taste at the end. Carbonation was pretty high for porter too.

Bottle. Deep dark brown colour with a nice dense and creamy light brownish head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and dark fruits. Flavour has a good roasty maltiness, chocolate, caramel, some coffee. Good tasty porter though still a bit too thin for my taste.

0,5 l bottle. Dark reddish brown color with creamy tan head. Sweetish, malty and lightly roasted aroma with notes toasted munchener malt, toffee, licorice, coffee, alcohol and rotten egg. Malty, toasty and suprisingly watery flavor with toffee, caramel, coffee and licorice. The aroma is OK but the flavor reminds bland stale coffee.

500 ml bottle. Dark brown and a little red. Medium-sized off-white head. A hint of chocolate, licorice and coffee syrup. Surprisingly thin flavour, but well-balanced. Gentle coffee syrup flavours. Finishes with a creamy texture and a light oily sugary solution. Consistent and clean without any flaws.
