A.Le Coq Porter is a strong dark beer that can rightfully be considered to be the successor of the world-famous "Imperial Extra Double Stout." Its mature character and perfect taste are derived from sparkling spring water and extra dark caramel-malt.

God porter.

Tumman viininpunainen väri, heikko vaahto. Tuoksusta ei saa kiinni. Maussa jotain makeaa marjaa. Suutuntuma vaahtoava, napakka, lievä alkoholin isku. Hajuton väritön mauton jälkimaku. Heikko esitys porteriksi.

I got this bottle from Jinroh, thank you so much for that! Always wanted to try this beer that bears with its name and style a historical, almost iconic burden. Ratebeer opinion is not too excited about the current product, but I am. The beer is somewhat dark, but far from being black, just translucent dark cherrywood, with a soapy beige head that quiets down to a nice creamy film. Except for a faint skunky whiff when the crown pops, the aroma is mainly Karo and some Waldhonig. One would dread the taste from reading the ratings here, but it is quite nice. Innocuous, but nice. It is sweet, malty, with plenty of caramel and an abrupt finish. But pleasant. Given the rather tame, diluted flavours and the absence of a proper finish, one would be tempted to say it is thin, but I find that there is still a creamy sensation left over for a while after the beer has rolled down. Too classy of a presentation to be carrying such a mundane beer. A le Coq should put their act together and improve this product.

Bottle at home. Pours a deep brown to black colour with a big, ivory head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, brownies and leather. Roasted flavour as well but is sweeter with chocolate and rye bread. Pretty malty. Slick and soft mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. An okay baltic porter, balanced and a little sweet.
