Kjedelig.

This is a very typical Baltic porter, and as such is considered a Baltic porter and not just as a porter. But what is the difference between a porter and a Baltic porter, some might ask? Well, you see! A Baltic porter is a direct reflection of the classical English porter, and in the countries Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Poland and partly also in Finland began in the 18th century even to brew porters. The traditional porter was imported from England, but price and competition made it attractive to brew porters locally. A Baltic porter derogates little from the traditional porter by being both a little stronger and have a little sweeter malty character. Baltic porters were almost unknown in the Western world until the Iron Curtain fell in 1989. Since then, Western Europe and the rest of the world could taste a Baltic porter, and many American micro-breweries brews this beer type now.
A. Le Coq is a traditional Baltic porter and must therefore rightfully considered a Baltic porter, and not as a failed London-style porter, the difference is in fact quite large. A. Le Coq Porter is black with moderate crest. The aroma is hard roasted malt with hint of licorice. The taste is sweet and direct caramel, but also with a little liquorice and roasted malt in the background. I guess that this is where many will get off the cart and dump the Baltic porters type correctness, but it must and should therefore taste such. If you do not drink it too cold, it is actually really delicate.

Drank from a bottle. Quite ok but there is not that much taste when you think it’s a porter. Slightly sweet and watery.
