COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A.Le Coq Porter is a strong dark beer that can rightfully be considered to be the successor of the world-famous "Imperial Extra Double Stout." Its mature character and perfect taste are derived from sparkling spring water and extra dark caramel-malt.

A dark redbrown beer with a small fine head. The aroma is sweet, malty, and perfumated. The flavor is very sweet, only slightly smoked, and slightly bitter. It doesn't have the flavor nor the body of a porter in my universe. Pretty watery for a porter. A boring beer. It's not a bad beer - just not a porter - it would be OK if it was a Vienna style.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Sort of a "historic" Baltic Porter put back into production i 1999. Dark reddish brown rather than porter-black, pretty light brown head. Dry and bitterish but not very fullbodied. Michael Jackson claims that this new version of the beer is more of a dark lager than a porter and I tend to agree. 250903

Bottled. Very dark red colour, mediumsized brown head. Roasted malt and a bit of vanilla in aroma. Wellbalanced beer with soft roasted malt in the flavour. Also hints of alcohol and barley can be found. Dry finish, and not much aftertaste.

Bottle. Malty aroma. Dark red/brown colour. Small head. Liquorice flavour and aftertaste. Hard bubbles. Aftertaste leaves a sort of liquorice or anis feel on the tongue. Slightly watery for a porter. OK, but boring.
