4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 D (577) - Gdynia, POLAND - JUL 24, 2006
I was surprised in a way - very light for a porter. Beginning from the look - ruby, not black colour - and ending on the taste: only slightly more heavy than Baltika 4 dunkel I drank before this. Nice malty and smokey caramel notes though, reasonable carbonation. Good overall impression make it a noteworthy drink. It was good too see the other way to make porters.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gr0ve (1875) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 29, 2006
500 ml bottle. Dark brown and a little red. Medium-sized off-white head. A hint of chocolate, licorice and coffee syrup. Surprisingly thin flavour, but well-balanced. Gentle coffee syrup flavours. Finishes with a creamy texture and a light oily sugary solution. Consistent and clean without any flaws.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 FatPhil (6203) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 28, 2007
500ml bottle.
Rich brown, with a red bent, slightly doughy head. Sweet roasted malty aroma, with a bit of chocolate cake, and some dark fruits. Gloriously smooth and succulent in the mouth - more roasted malts, with a sharp burnt bitter tang. Very quaffable, even at 6.5% - and yes, I’ll happily session this when given the chance if every bottle were this good. (But sometimes they’re a bit mushier and less distinct in their flavours.)
