COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A.Le Coq Porter is a strong dark beer that can rightfully be considered to be the successor of the world-famous "Imperial Extra Double Stout." Its mature character and perfect taste are derived from sparkling spring water and extra dark caramel-malt.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, - SEP 19, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2008 Clear mahogany hue below a thick and creamy off-white head. Smoky nose with teases of cherries and coffee. Restrained toast and cookie flavors at first, evolving into a roasty sensation with light grape acidity and finishing with light coffee bitterness into a chocolate aftertaste. Oily in the mouth with prickling carbonation and a medium weight.

What’s there is good, but it’s mostly sharp smoke and roast with little intensity otherwise.

50 cl bottle, best before 04 April 2009.

Medium sized, creamy, light tan head floats on a clear, matte, medium brown body. The aroma is surprisingly light all the way around, primarily focusing on cherries, cocoa powder, watered down instant coffee an peanuts. In the background, something like rubbing alcohol on cotton balls. Light to moderately sweet tasting of light caramel and watered down coffee. No acidity of any sort to be found. Finishes kind of woody, water and then limps away. Light instant coffee aftertaste. Medium-light bodied with a watery texture and very average carbonation. Flat and dull; nothing offensive, but no reward for consumption. 50cl bottle, bbe 21.07.08.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark brown with a creamy offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, nuts, honey. Taste malt, milk chocolate, caramel. Thin body, soft carbonation. Not bad, but not to exiting either. 230112

Deep reddish color, thin but with a hint of smoked malt. dull porter. A little to alcoholic porter with a slightly toasted flavor, it has a lot of litter acid and lacks fullness.

Pours dark brown/copper with a small head. Aroma more like a dunkel than a porter. Taste somewhat aversive.

Bottle. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing white head. Clear and good looking brown body. Weak dried fruit malt caramel aroma. Mild barley malt caramel flavor with a weak hint of cocoa. Dry, dusty and long aftertaste. Low carbonation. Little hops bitterness. Sorry mates not my idea of a porter.

suurjuust (253) - Tartu, ESTONIA - OCT 5, 2011
Reddish brown, off-white head. The flavors of a baltic porter are all there - the roastiness, the sweetness, the bitterness, but they all are too weak, too watery. Not bad, but not exactly good either, the body is too thin for a good porter.

Bottle 50 cl, Alko Loimaa. Pours clear ruby mahogany with a big beige shortlived head. Aroma is weak; malty, fruity and wet carboard. Flavor is sunky, sweet, perfume, a bit fruity and bitter. Not even near a porter. Finishes shortlived weak sweet bitter.
