DruncanVeasey (1533), Burbage, Germany May 14, 2008 (Not Viru Premium- cheers to SaintMatty for the tip-off)...The one in the funny-shaped bottle? It actually says ’A Le Coq’ on the neck, but I’m assuming this is the same beer. Spritzy, pissy gold heaped with shaving foam. Grass, metal and slight lemon/pine aroma. Flavour watery grass and cornflake. Adjuncty, sweet, slightly offensive global lager.
Scauca (203), Lovere, Italy Jun 19, 2008 Nice clean golden with a nice creamy white cap. Sulphury, cooked veggies, sweet and grainy. Diacetyl. Weak body. Metallic, lot of diacetyl, no bitterness. Allen (489), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Jun 8, 2008 Bottled 30cl. Nice bottle shape. Sulphury nose. Metallic, grainy with a malt liquor-like component. Grainy, sweet, wheaty and malty taste. An unpleasant soapy component and a very faint hop presence. Medium bodied. Metallic with a strong alcohol presence. Peanuts, lime and apricot showing up. Low bitterness. A lingering burnt plastic component accompanied by marshmallows. Grassy finish with a hint of lime. Rune (1497), Tromsø, Norway May 20, 2008 300ml bottle shared with Finn. Unusual bottle design (see picture). Clear-straw body colour. Missing head. Grass-malty aroma. Corn-like taste complemented with sweet, dry grass. Perfumed palate (Tromsø, 16.05.2008). Finn (1044), Tromsø, Norway May 19, 2008 Bottle 0,3l. Yellowish golden colored. No head. Metallic aroma with some hops. Dry fruity flavor. Sweet bitter aftertaste. A lager slightly above average.
