DragonStout (1183), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 14, 2008 On tap at the brewpub.Poured brown with a nice khaki head.A sweet nose of caramel and nuts.Flavor was malty, nutty, bitter sweet with a small bite on the finish. BeerVirgin72 (599), C-Bus, Ohio, USA Sep 5, 2008 Sampled at brewpub. Pour was a nice solid brown. Aroma was very much nuts and sweet malts. Flavor was roasted nuts, caramel and brown sugar. This was my favorite of their brews and was very easily drinkable. I have a hard time finding a brown ale I like. This one was it. BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jun 4, 2008 Faint floral nose, that follows through with some roasted caramel. Pretty mild flavors, somewhat subdued, with a hint of light chocolate and nuttiness. Light hoppiness in the finish. Decent brown ale. Ibrew2or3 (1756), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Mar 19, 2008 Pours up a nice clear deep amber, certainly brownish, with a tan to off white head suspending a brown hue in places and some cobweb lacing. Good looking beer. I get almost no aroma on this beer. Might be just a faint roasted maltiness but it’s so light that might just be what I was expecting to smell rather than what I actually get. The taste is roasty maltiness and not really any malt astringency I associate with a brown ale. Pretty tasty and mild in flavor carrying some rich smooth medium to moderately roasted malts. Hey, a faint malt astringency does show up about midway giving the beer that classic brown ale feel. This is an even tasting light weight sessionable brown ale.
